TV control do not respond when operated manually or via the remote

The TV switches On and Off manually, picture obtained. Unable to make any adjustment ie change channel, adjust the volume using the remote or by using the manual buttons on the TV. I have eliminated the remote control in that new batteries have been installed. I get the same behaviour from the TV with the batteries removed from the remote. Apart from identifying any dry joints on a circuit board I would appreciate advice on any further trouble shooting and possible part replacement and cost to repair via TV technician against cost to replace with new. Many Thanks

I've solved my own problem to update the TV is a Samsung LE26B450C4W. In addition to the symptoms listed the TV channel kept repeatedly changing down which I dictated a possible issue with the buttons at the side of the TV. I was able to disconnect and remove the buttons and it's associated pcb. The TV now behaves and can be stated with the remote control.

SOURCE: TV won't change channels or adjust volume

Do you have a universal remote? If the batteries are taken out for a little period of time, the remote will loose the codes and they will have to be reset. You can find the codes by google universal remote codes.

If you have a factory remote that came with the television, than it may be faulty or the sensor on remote or tv may need to be cleaned.

SOURCE: TV does not respond to

When this kind of a problem appears it is usually due to a malfunctioning microprocessor IC . The IC cannot be replaced and the board has to be replaced as a whole. Replacement board should run you about 100$. I can find you a replacement if you are interested in fixing it.

This is a known issue for this model, and you need to ask for a service intervention via your dealer or Philips (http://www.support.philips.com/support/catalog_selector.jsp) to repair it.

013/ 054/ 055/ 060/ 065/ 067/ 089 These are the three digit codes to Jvc brand TVs. As there is no remote control with you, the first thing to know is, to which code do your TV respond. Some TVs will respond to three digit codes, some others will only respond to four or five digit codes. If your TV do respond to three digit codes, a universal remote control, which have the above said codes in its code list will work. If you wish to get three, four & five digit code list to some popular remote controls, check the links given above. You can choose the proper remote control to your TV. But before buying a new remote control, make sure about the number of digits of codes that TV must have.

Volume moving on it's own

Either the key/button the TV or Remote is stuck. Just remove the batteries of the remote and try. If same thing continues, do vacuum cleaning of the panel button/switch after switching of the TV, removing the plug from the power outlet. If the problem persists, this might require attention by a qualified service technician.

Remote fall on floor and now it is stuck on one channel and I can not turn off the TV or change a channel or lower the volume

Hi, well you can do everything from the axtual TV itself, have a look on the TV you will find a setof buttons/keys. these allow you to controll almost everything that the remote can do.
here you can change channel change volume etc.
The buttons usually there are 6- 7 marked On/Off, Channel up/down, Volume Up/Down, Enter/OK & Menu. Now pressing these will bring up the onscreen display and you can adjust what you wish.
Now with the remote, it's probably best to obtain a new one..
Sometimes disassembly may fix it, but it sounds like it has a bad problem.
To ensure it doesn't interfere remove the batteries.
