Question about Panasonic DMR-E55 DVD Recorder
Hello Brian. Its not a Zener, it appears to be some type of polarised VDR or similar device. I have just literally one hour ago repaired an E55. I was about to replace the STRG6353 and had taken the old one out. I thought it a good idea to check a few components before going ahead.. I did a diode check across td3 and it showed short circuit in both directions. So I disconnected both ends and then it showed open in both directions.. Read a bit more on various forums and decided it was ok to fit the new STRG. I made a much larger heat sink for it. The machine immediately came back to lift.
If you want a bit of moral support e-mail me at johnatjbrewerdotfsnetdotcodotuk. Happy new year..
