Carburetor might be gummed up with old fuel. I would recommend carburetor overhaul. That should be the fix. When storing your snowblower till next use, either run the engine until out of gas or add fuel stabilizer to fuel tank to prevent fuel break down that causes damage to carburetors when not used for a long time.

SOURCE: Can start a troy bilt pro chipper.

i need to know what kind of engine does this machine have ..you said it hadnt been started in a few years?? was there old gas in it when you tried to start it??if so you need to first drain it and before you put fresh gas in it make sure you dont have dirt or rust in the bottom of the tank take a flash light and do a GOOD visual inspection. if there is any dirt or rust you may need to remove the tank and clean it re assemble it and put fresh gas in it .if this dont work check to see if it has a inline gas filter if so replace it if not it should have a setiment bulb.. carefully remove it (use caution when removing it to avoid damage to gasket)..dump fuel bowl and wipe it clean put a cup of gas in the tank and see if you are at this point getting gas to the float bowl if you are go ahead and replace float bowl and fill tank put a couple of table spoons of marvals mystery oil in tank you can get it at any parts store it comes in a red bottle and try to start it if this dont work i can talk you through a couple more procedures i know beond a doubt if i was there i could get it going and chances are if i walk you through a couple more procedures you can do it if you have any mechanacle aptitude email me at mrdmburns@cableone.net
keep me posted i will help you through it hope this helps but if not we will keep at it good luck and keep me up on results.

take it in to a mower shop for the repair as you exhibit very limited mechanical knowledge
the problem is that there is a blocked main jet or fuel flow restriction in the carby

My Troy bilt squall 2100 snowblower does not idle steady. It races and slows while idling.

It sounds like the carb needs cleaning and readjusting, or the fuel filter is clogged. Good-Day! Remove and clean out carb, it may be dirty inside.

Either the gas is old (replace it with fresh gas) or the carburetor needs cleaning inside. Unless, of course, someone has tampered with your idle mix adjustment screw.

2410 troy bilt snowblower wont start...no spark

unplug the switch to make sure it isnt just stuck in off position *(internally stuck while the switch will still move) If it starts you can unstick the switch with some WD and a couple back and forths with the key.

If you still have no spark you are gonna need a new coil.

The diaphragm in the Carburetor is probably bad. If you are mechanical it is not that hard of a fix. Of course this is assuming that you have cleaned out all the old gas and replaced it with 100% real gas. NO ETHANOL. I also keep gas treatment in all of my tanks and spare gas cans. Varnish from old gas makes small engines like snow blowers that are only used seasonally a Bi*** to start and keep running.

Order or go out to your lawn center and buy a new diaphragm, I bet it fixes it.

I share your frustration. We just had our first snow fall of the season and my Troy Bilt Squall 2100 would not start or do anything. The snow blower is well maintained and does not have 2 hours use. I use 0-30 synthetic oil and installed fresh gasoline. It is simply maddening to have plunked down close to $500.00 and have a useless snow blower. Trying to get through to Troy Bilt's help line is next to impossible.

Troy bilt mower won't stay running to cut lawn

You may want to check the gas cap to see if it clogged with dirt. If the gas cap is clear, you more than likely have a carburetor problem. If you need tips on carb. cleaning, feel free to ask.
