Here is a link to your owner's manual... http://12.153.20.74/manuals/122371-01C.PDF.

If your getting no spark, then check to see if the ignitor wire is disconnected or loose. Check gap (The gap should be set between the ignitor electrode and target plate to 0.71". Then, check to see if piezo ignitor is loose. Lastly, it may be a bad ignitor electrode.

If you need to purchase a replacement part you can contact Master Parts at 800-446-1446 or you can find them on-line at www.masterparts.net. I hope this helps!

is the sensor for the thermocouple located in the right spot in the flame, remove it and if you have access to a propane torch, heat the end till its red hot and leave it connected to the gas valve, then start the unit and this will tell you if the sensor is properly positioned in the pilot flame on the unit itself,if not you could have a defective new thermocouple or another safety device keeping it from staying lit or the gas valve is faulty

SPC-40 wont stay lit

Problem is either the thermocouple or the thermoelectric valve. I have one of these as well with the same problem. On mine it is not the thermocouple. I have replaced the thermocoupler and still have the problem. A thermoelectric valve is $42.25 at http://www.masterheaters.com/propane/
Im looking for a cheaper part. Any suggestions?

Torpedo heater wont stay lit.

Do you have the serial number or the manufacture date? There are some design changes and I would need to know the year of manufacture to assist accurately. Usually it is a relay or the thermocouple connection that will affect the unit staying lit.

Wont stay lit

go to this site www dot desatech dot com. Here you'll find parts to repair your heater. a propane heater uses a millivolt generator to sense the flame. along it's cappilary are two push on spde connectors. these connect to the high limit temperature sensor which is mounted on the flame backplate of your heater. to see if it is the high limit shutting down your heater, jumper across the two spade connectors. if the heater stays on, this is your problem. if the flame still goes out, then the millivolt generator is shot.
