Question about Computers & Internet
I downloaded EaseUS and was able to shrink the D drive but couldnt figure out how to merge the unallocated space into C. For now, I named that space F and could probably just use it that way, but would really like to just have a bigger C drive for simplicity.
Hey, that's easy. You can use AOMEI Partition Assistant to allocate free space from your D drive to your C drive. Right now, you can use this tool to merge your F drive to your C drive. http://www.disk-partition.com/help/merge-partition.html

Do you have a Recovery Partition on D? You need to expand C.: You do not what to name, leave as unallocated space. Take a look a this expand procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/resize-a-partition-for-free-in-windows-vista/

If it works on another computer then either the ide cable in the acer is bad/loose at either end or the ide controller on the motherboard is bad. I would try a known good ide cable first as if this is the problem it is fixable alot cheaper than a motherboard. Hope this helps.

Music, video and pictures use the most hard drive space. Store them on a disc or on line storage site. After the delete or removing as advised, defrag you hard drive. This should free up space. Get rid of any programs you don't use. As long as you don't delete hidden files you should be fine. Hope this helps. If you are using windows XP go to start, control panel add and remove programs and delete only the programs that you installed and remove only them.

The link below gives you the user manual. On the computer views is the base view which will show you the correct bay on the bottom of the computer. You will loosed the screws to that bay, remove the cover andl you will see the hard drive. Althought I have not removed this particular laptop hard drive, these drives usually pull up or back using a tab provided. The hard drive will probably have a cradle the actual drive is connected to. You will have to removed the old drive from this cradle and put the new drive back on the cradle exactly the way the old drive was attached,
I hope that this information helps and gives you a place to start solving your issue.
