SOURCE: miele coffee maker cva 4070

OK. Here's the deal. I struggled with this CVA 4070 (F 73) problem also recently, and even posted a questions in the cyber world about it. I jiggled, re-cleaned the machine, re-read the Miele manual, and scoured the internet for schematic drawings of this brewing unit's insides. No luck. Finally after finding out I'd have to pay $199 just for a service clown to walk in my front door, I said NYET!!!  I must solve by myself. If I can take apart & fix my Dyson, etc, etc, I WILL DO THIS TOO!!  (MUST HAVE COFFEE>>>)
Pull out the brewer, turn it a quarter-turn to your right, and look at the spot where that small black plastic piece -- shaped like a block "M" or block "W" -- should be situated. Pull it out, if it isn't out already. Don't worry about yanking it out or harming these parts, said the Miele troubleshooter guy in New Jersey on the phone. They're "made from the same plastic used in football helmets."  Okey-dokey.
This approx. 1.5" wide, blocky plastic piece is part of the "slide" that takes the brewed coffee grounds into the waste container. When positioned correctly, it looks like a block "W,"  with the "wings" ointing up, and slides in just under a brown 1.5" flat piece. A small, down-facing tab on the brown piece clicks into the "W" piece and holds it in place. The "W" should feel fairly solid, although it is not rigidly in place, as the entire mechanism is a movable system to deposit the grounds in the waste receptacle.
Put everything back inside your CVA 4070 "love" machine, hit "on," and wait for it to go through its warm-up.  No F73 message?  Yeah!  Mission Accomplished. You, like I, have fixed your Miele, saved your family relationships, and saved yourself a bundle from unnecessary service calls.

SOURCE: Cuisinart coffee maker turns on but will not brew.

Well, you could try unplugging for an hour. Sometimes that helps, but these have been having a lot of problems (but don't ask their customer service that, they can't admit it but I'm pretty sure they all know it!). I would say call customer service anyway if it's under 3 years old (800-726-0190) after you've unplugged it and let them know what's going on (model and serial # are both located on the bottom of the unit, stamped in the black part). If it's under warranty they can offer you a replacement and from what I hear Cuisinart has been getting in new coffee on demand units (like the one you have) that have fixed the problems. They're on back order right now though, so there will be a wait. Other than that, I would say you don't have many options, unless the store is willing to take it back, because this one is pretty much a goner. Not the first time I've seen it. :(

How do I santized the fresh water tank in my raptor 365 LEV

You might as well sanitize the whole unit. Fill the carafe half with water, half with "cleaning vinegar." Run several brew cycles, pouring the hot vinegar-water mix back into the reservoir. Then empty the carafe, and fill it with fresh water, and run several brew cycles to rinse out all traces of vinegar.
I suppose you could use white vinegar, but the cleaning vinegar has a higher acidity.

My 12 Cup grind and brew coffee maker needs a good cleaning. How do I do it?

To clean the inside of the coffee maker, fill the reservoir with water as you would to prepare coffee, except add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to the reservoir. Place a clean filter in the basket and run the solution through. When it is complete turn off the unit and let it cool for 2 minutes and then pour the hot solution back into the reservoir for a second run, you can reuse the filter that you placed in it the first time. After it is finished this second time, turn off the unit for 2 minutes and pour the used solution down they kitchen sink. Allow the carafe to cool for a couple of minutes and fill with cold water and run it through as you did the solution, but put a clean filter in this time. Repeat this one more time to remove the vinegar solution and discard the used filters. Once the carafe is cooled fill it about 1/3 full of water, add several ice cubes and 1 tablespoon of baking soda swirl this around in the carafe for a minute or so. Rinse the carafe and run it and the basket through a cycle in the dishwasher or wash by hand with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and you're done. Good luck.

How do I run the clean cycle?

I assume you mean descaling the coffee maker when the Clean indicator flashes after a brewing cycle. You can use a packaged descaling product or white vinegar. For the packaged descaling agent, follow the package directions for the ratio of product and water. If you are using vinegar, fill the carafe with a 50:50 mixture of water and vinegar.

Remove the water filter and remove any coffee and coffee filter from the brew basket. Make sure the unit is plugged in and turned on. Pour the descaling mix from the carafe into the water tank and then place the carafe in the coffee maker. You have 10 seconds to program the cleaning mode or the unit will return to the standby mode. The next step depends on the type of carafe. For a machine with the glass carafe, press Mode 6 times. Otherwise for a unit with the thermal carafe, press Mode 5 times. The Clean indicator will blink. Press Program/Set followed by the + or - button to select Clean On. Press and hold Program/Set until you hear the beep. Press Brew and wait for the cycle to complete (the Clean indicator will go off). Then do two brewing cycles with water but no coffee or coffee filter. Discard the fluid from the coffee maker from all three cycles. Wash the brew basket and then reinstall the water filter.

If you notice an odd taste to the coffee when you next brew some, do at least one more rinse with water (remove the water filter and coffee grounds/filter).

DTC 975 Won't brew and beep comes on in about 1 minute. What is the problem/resolution?

I returned my first one because it was under warranty and now the new one is doing it too. I think that it clogs with scale very quickly and the vinegar and water cleaning does not work. It turns itself off and will not reset, even though we unplugged it overnight and then tried again (as was suggested by others). I am going to take it apart and see if I can fix it, because I might as well, since it is broken. If that doesn't work, I will just have to buy a new one, AND NOT A CUISINART!

I believe your problem is the filter basket holder is not seated correctly or the carafe is not completely inserted in the unit to push the brew pause lever up. The brew pause feature which stops the coffee from going into the carafe when you want a cup of coffee before the brew cycle is done. When you remove the carafe a spring lever stops the coffee from dripping into the carafe. When the carafe is inserted it must push the spring lever up to allow the coffee to flow into the carafe. If it is not the coffee will overflow and make a mess. The filter basket holder should be firmly seated in the unit so it will not have any play in it. Cuisinart recommends using a vinegar and water mixture but BrewRite Cleaner (Sodium Carbonate) available in the coffee section at Wallmart, Kamart and Target is fantastic. You can clean your carafe with BrewRite Cleaner and hot water by letting it soak a few minutes and rinsing. I will also clean your filter basket holder by soaking it as well and all your coffee residue will be gone with no scrubbing.

No manual with Bunn NHBX coffee maker.

before plugging in place your empty filter basket in the coffee maker and place a pot under it. Slowly pour in two pots of water using the pour pitcher. Now you can plug it in. it'll take 15 min to heat up first time . when you brew your first pot leave your water level a little short, because the water will expand (only the first time)

Inside of the carafe

The only thing that work well for me was Dishwasher liquid. put a litle in the pot with some real hot water, put the lid on and swirl for a minute, being careful not to spill. Then place in the maker filled with just enough water to fill the pot the rest of the way. Then shake and swirl over the sink, being very careful not to get that very hot water on you. You may have to do this twice. You will be surprized with all the junk that come out. Then rinse it a lot. Then I place vinegar and baking soda in the bottom and run it through the cycle twice . Very clean and fresh and the coffee tastes great. A lot of work though.

I have had a cuisinart DTC-975 about 2 weeks and have a flood of coffee in my kitchen about every other making. What am i doing wrong?

I don't think you are putting the top on correctly. Make sure you thread it correctly - it is sort of fussy! I did that once and water went all over the place!
