I am assuming its running on Windows XP

Please Goto Start -Run - Services.msc

Then find Wireless Zero Configuration towards the end of the list.
    1. Is the service on automatic /started or disabled ?
    2. Please advise In case you using the Dell Wireless Utility.
    3. Can your wireless card detect any networks around ?
4 If not, check the device manager (Start - Run - sysdm.cpl ; Hardware Tab-Device manager button) to check the status of the device.

If all seems fine, try Start-Run- CMD.
In the black window, type in IPCONFIG /ALL

    Revert with the observations please

How do you turn on wireless internet on a dell latitude d600

In a dell computer the FN+F2 keys will help to turn the wireless on .. Nut you have to press and hold the FN key and then press the F2 key once,,

Even then if the wireless is not working then you have to reinstall the drivers for the dell wireless card..

The issue will be surely fixed

Internet access just stopped working!

Open Device Manager and check to make sure that the Wireless Adapter is not disabled. The red X can be caused by that. If it has the red X on it, right click and choose 'enable'. That should take care of it. If it doesn't, please let me know and we can look a little deeper.

Wi Fi Connection

Have you tried this: go to bottom task bar and right click on the PC icon. Select "View Available Wireless Networks". Find and select the wireless system you have, i.e., linksys, etc., and click on "connect".

If that doesn't work, use the same method to open the connection options, and click on "repair".

Lastly, if neither of the above works, try rebooting your linksys or whatever wireless system you have, and start over.

Wireless card not recognized

Make sure you are using the latest driver and software for the card. If you haven't already done so, I would also suggest trying the card in another computer, and a known good card in your D600, to see if the problem stays with your computer or follows the card. If it follows the card to another computer then it is most likely a problem with the card itself. If other known good cards also fail in your D600 it might be something with the D600 card slot. If the slot is the problem then I would recommend contacting Dell tech support. Larry Dell Customer Advocate
