You can use R134a compressors with the Poly oil in them and use R12 or R134a (flush the remaining old mineral oil out of the system first). Match your BTU requirements.

Traulsen freezer with intella true continuously frosting the evaporator coil and blocking the air flow?

Your defrost circuit ... should (about twice each day) gently warm up.. and remove the frost to an evaporation tray at the bottom of your FREEZER (refrigerator?)...

Regardless of the design...

THERE are only two reasons for excessive FROST.

- massive air intrusion (check seals & gaskets)
- defective defrost circuit (check defrost timer/controller)...

EZ trouble to fix...

Post comment reply: 7/3/2016...

In general... there are only three elements to the defrost circuit:
- 1st failure is usually the "timer" (in your case (other cases it is being replaced by the power control board (do remove power: line voltages present).
- 2nd failure (inside ... usually atop the evaporator) is the "DEFROST THERMOSTAT" (designed the keep the heating element from getting much hotter than 55 degrees Fahrenheit, ("failing" = open.. prevents the heater element from being energized at all).
- 3rd the heating element... itself goes open (usually below the evaporator (caution: line voltages on 2nd & 3rd)).

Anytime you don't feel you've got this surrounded just comment me back... I'll be around.

Traulsen URS 48 DT Freezer in Freeze/Thaw Cycle/Fridge Side O.K.

I'm not intently familiar with this particular brand, but here's some ideas to check. If the thermostat sticks on, the freezer coils can freeze, blocking air flow and jamming circulation fan. This will cause the temp in freezer compartment to rise. When the ice on the coils thaw, the compartment starts to cool again, but the cycle will continue. Another thought is if this unit has a defrost timer that could be defective. Without seeing the unit, it's hard to determine the exact cause.
Hope this helps.

Traulsen ur 48 dt freezer want go below 10 deg

The first place to look is to check the charge. Using guages check the low and high side pressures and their relationship to one another. I'm assuming your unit is a R-404 unit which, if fully charged and the condenser is clean, and the fan is operating, should have about 210 to 250 high side pressure. Other things to check: evaporator coil ice/frost free; defrosting properly to obtain a clean coil; all evaporator fans running. If low side pressure is above 30 PSI you have a weak compressor. Whatever, fix the Traulsen unit, its head and shoulders above anything else on the market today.
