Howdy,
Doble check your Lamp Installation, making sure that the Lamp Cover is properly secured. Reset TV by unplugging TV from the wall for 3-4 minutes then plug back in, then turn TV on.

To reset your Panasonic Lamp Time:
ø Press and hold these buttons for (at least) 5 seconds:
ø Volume Down button (on TV Panel).
ø AND ACTION Button (on remote).

As the remote gets older the ACTION button may not respond unless you press the button dead center and not at an angle.

Thanks for using FIXYA, BIG IRISH.

I have a universal remote for my Panasonic PT-50LC13 and I need to reset the lamp hours. Can anyone help?

I too had a problem resetting my lamp time of my PT-50Lc13. My remote that came with the set lacked a PIP and SPLIT keys, BUT....my charter remote (that was obviously configured for my set via codes) has a PIP ability that we discovered some time ago. Instead of using the STANDARD remote, you can use a UNIVERSAL that has a PIP capability....has to be set up to work with your set first....you can hold down the VOL - key and the UNIVERSAL remotes PIP key for about 5 seconds and then you will receive a message stating that the lamp time was reset to 0.

I know this helps someone out there, and your welcome!

How do i reset the new lamp hours after installed the new one?

The reset instructions often are in the box with the replacement lamp; use those directions if you have them.

Try holding the Volume Down button on the TV while pushing the Play PIP button on the remote for about 5 seconds. If that doesn't work, try the Split button instead of the Play PIP button on the remote. You should see a message that the Lamp hours have been reset before you release the two keys.

I hope this helps.

MY PANASONIC PT-52LCX35 REMOTE DOES NOT HAVE A SPLIT OR PIP BUTTON. MY BOTTOM BUTTONS ARE TV/VCR, VCR/DBS CH UP,DOWN. HOW DO I RESET THE LAMP TIMER. THIS IS THE REMOTE THAT CAME WITH THE TV.

I can help you reset the lamp timer for your Panasonic PT-52LCX66 Projection HDTV. The buttons used are the TV's volume down and the remote's number 0, not the 'split' or pip for your model.

Follow the steps in my Fixya Tip for the complete lamp timer reset procedure.

I hope that helps.

Unable to reset Lamp Hour Meter on Panasonic PT-50LC14

Try this, using the Panasonic remote, wait until the notice about your lamp goes AWAY (it wont work with the message still up).
Hold the volume down on your tv while holding the split/play button on the remote.
You will get a notice about 4-5 seconds later that it was reset.

Reset hour meter for replaced lamp

push and hold the PIP (same as play) button in the remote control
push and hold the menu button on the front panel of the tv.
Do both actions simultaneously. Of course you have to be close to the tv to do this: pointing with the remote at the sensor AND holding the menu button of the tv panel.
Do this for some seconds and the screen is going to tell you the timer was reset sucesfull and ask you to push exit in the remote control to finish

Lamp meter on Panasonic PT-40LC12 ?

I just had my picture go out two weeks ago. I took it to a local tv repair shop. They replaced the thermal fuse. I also had a spare lamp so they also replaced that. I'm not sure if they reset the lamp meter but this is what I found surfing around...try at your own risk. I'm going to try this when I go home tonight.

Good Luck...

Press the power button to turn the unit on.
While pressing the Vol-(volume down) button on the projection display,
hold down the PIP button on the remote control at the same time for more
than 5 seconds. When the reset procedure is complete the following message
will appear on the screen. "Lamp time was reset to 0".

Turning off PIP without remote

To turn off the "stuck" pip on a Panasonic tv without a remote:
1) Turn off the tv.
2) Then hold down the "Action" button on the front of the tv and press the power button.
2-b) Continue to hold down the Action until the tv powers all the way up, and the reset menu comes up - be patient.
Expected Reslut: Self check menu should appear.
Expected Reslut: The pesky pip screen will be gone!
If the self check menu does not appear, you did not hold the Action button long enough.
Simply begin from step one.

Thanks to Imhiro
