Bob, Not quite enough info to be sure how you have this wired, but here's a shot. 3 or 4 way dimming switches are designed to work with other 3 or 4 way on-off switches, not with another dimmer. I never tried this but it is no surprise that it might work only if you keep the dimming function of switch C in the full-bright position, because you are using two dimmers wired in series. For best operation, you should replace C with a regular 3 or 4 way switch.

SOURCE: Can I replace a leviton dimmer light switch that

Thank you for contacting FixYa with your electrical inquiry.
Yes! Both units are interchangeable.
The green wire is a ground and the box under the cover plate has a ground screw or provision for attaching the green ground wire. The two black will go to the existing leads. Usually screw on wire nuts are included in the new GE Dimmer Switch to make installation simple.
For safety be sure to trip the circuit breaker effecting that light circuit. It's usually located in the load center in the garage and should be well labeled by code requirements.
Hope this helps. Please keep us updated and remember to rate this answer.

I have a dimmer switch with 2 red wires 1 black wire and 1 green wire

that is a 3 way switch. In order for that to work it has to be installed to a light with more than one switch. For example in a hall way and there is a switch at both ends of the hall then both switches need to be 3 way switches

Door won't lock for self cleaning although closed

Hi, Look to see if the safety switches in the slots in the door is bent Kind of hard to figure out if you don't know how they are supposed to look like but guess remember it's not working either, also could be a bad switch itself.

I forgot to open the dishwasher hole when installing. I don;t have the instructions and I can't figure out what I am supposed to do. It seems solid and I don;t see anything removable

If you disconnect the dishwasher hose from the disposal and peek inside the disposal where the hose was, you'll see that it's blocked by a piece of plastic. It's premolded into the inner chamber but that portion is breakable. Stick a screwdriver or something into the hole and give it a whack. If that piece end up inside the disposal's main compartment, you'll need to get it out. You could turn the disposal upside down if you haven't already installed it, but you did.

On certain model the dimmer is also control the inside light.
MOVE the dash dimmer control dial from the extreme right to the middle position. (counter clockwise)

Clean the metal contacts on the side sliding door.
You may find white lithium grease on the you best to wipe these contact clean.
Do the same on the rear hatch contacts.
Both front doors has plastic pin switches.

Check one door at a time to make sure the plastic pin switch is good condition.
Press the switch in and see does it operate smoothly.

I installed a GE dimmer similar to this model (bought it from COSTCO), after about 10 minutes the metal plate on the dimmer start to heat up. It is normal? Is it faulty? Can it start a fire?

It is normal for dimmers to get warm. Dimmers have, roughly, an inefficiency of about 1% that turns into heat. Metal plates, especially the metal screws, are going to conduct that heat to the front pretty effecitvely. The lower you dim the lights, the cooler it will get. Also, the less load you have on it, the cooler it will get. A plastic plate will contain the heat more effecitvely - or better yet a screwless faceplate will completely encapsulate it.

unplug it,open the door and look up,you'll see two phillips screws, take them out and remove the top panel,if you want to remove the front panel just remove the two phillips screws one on each side of the panel around 4 inches down from the top.

3 way dimmer in a single switch ap

Sometimes it can sometimes it can't. They make dimmers designed for both. If it is not designed for both it can only be used in a 3 way application.
