How To Create and Send Video Mail for Free

Today anyone with a webcam can quickly and easily create and send video messages for free. You don't have to record videos with expensive equipment, and you don't have to download software. Best of all no expertise is required. If you can create and send text email you can send video mail.

Most people believe that sending videos means recording very large files with a camcorder, and trying to attach it to an email. It usually doesn't work due to email file attachment size limits. mailVU.com is one solution that doesn't require camcorders or file attachments. They have a free video mail service that doesn't require a software download, and it doesn't require a user account. I tried it and put together this step-by-step process for creating your first video mail.

What do you need for video mail?
  • Computer (PC, MAC, Linux all work)
  • Webcam
  • Microphone, either built-in to your webcam or laptop, or external headset
  • Broadband Internet connection

Begin by opening any browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and going to http://mailVU.com. You will be prompted by the following request to allow access to your webcam. Select Allow.

Now you should be able to see yourself on the left side under Live Camera. If you don't see yourself click on the drop down list of cameras and select the one that works for you. On the Mac it is typically called USB Webcam. Note that until you record a message the deletion options and email option is grayed out at the bottom of the screen.

Click the red Record button above your image to start the 1 minute recording session. This button will change to Stop after you click it, a notification will appear that recording is in process, and a timer counts down from 1 minute. When done click the red Stop button.

Now that the recording is made the information at the bottom of the screen is available to use. You may play back your message before sending it to someone. To play it back simply click the green Play button above your image. Your recording will now play in the right side window while you still see yourself live in the left side Live Camera window.

If you want to record over your message, click the red Record button again to overwrite it. When you are happy with your recording decide if you want to use an auto deletion function at the bottom.

The default deletion time frame is 30 days, but you can change it to anything between 1 and 30 days. And you could also specify the video to be deleted after a certain number of views. If both are checked then whichever event happens first will destruct the video mail.

You can now click Send this as a Video Mail and you will have the following screen to populate:

You fill in the email address fields, and you have the option of adding a text message to your video mail. You can copy yourself if you click the box at the bottom. When done click Send Email. Congratulations! You have now sent your first video mail!

The user will receive an email which is less than 25kb in size that includes a picture of you linking to your video message. They click on your picture and click play and they will be able to hear and see you. To record a video message back to you they can follow this same process.

By using this process anyone can quickly and easily send video messages to anyone in the world.

Can't make a video E-mail call/web chat

Gmail helps you stay in touch in a variety of ways. Its offerings range from its basic function email to more advanced features such as phone calls and video chatting. To send an email or chat via text on Gmail, you don't need to do anything more than create an account. Before you can start video chatting with your Gmail contacts, however, you must install the required software.

Visit the Google Voice installation page (link below). http://www.google.com/chat/video Click the blue "Install voice and video chat" button. When the process is complete, you see a page congratulating you on installing Google voice and video chat. Click the "Gmail" link on this page to go to your Gmail account. Hover your mouse over an online Gmail contact in your contact list. Click "Chat" in the list that appears. This opens a chat with the contact in question in the lower right corner of your Gmail screen. Click the small video camera icon within the chat window to initiate a video chat. Before the chat begins, your contact must accept the video call. You and the person you're calling must have webcams. Most modern laptops come with built-in webcams, and peripheral webcams are available at computer stores.

I cant take a picture with my bisoncam what do i do/ when people cal me i can see them but they cant see me

This will depend on which messenger program you are using ?
Skype Double-click the "Skype" icon on your desktop and log in with your username and password. Click "Tools" at the top of the screen, and then click "Options." Click "Video" in the dropdown menu. The blue icon on the left will display your video options. Check "Enable Skype Video." You'll now have access to Skype video settings. Set up your webcam connection. It should already be connected to your computer with drivers installed. Select the webcam from the dropdown list and test it again to make sure it works. Set your video call preferences below. You can have video start automatically if you check--what else?--"Start my video automatically." Click "Save" in the bottom right to save your settings. To make a video call, click the video button on your contact list or click "Start Video" once you are already in a call. MSN Messenger Locate the "Webcam" icon underneath your display picture. Click the "Webcam" icon. Select "Send My Webcam" to the person that you want to send your video to. Wait for your chat partner to accept your Webcam invitation. Once he or she accepts it, your live video feed will begin. Finish sending the video feed by clicking the "Webcam" icon once again. Open the MSN Messenger program on your computer. b> Show or Hide Your Webcam b> Open MSN Messenger on your computer. Click the "Tools" menu and then select "Options" from the drop-down list. Locate the "Personal" link and click it with your mouse. Find the "My Webcam" area and either select or de-select next to where it says "Allow Others to See That I Have a Webcam." This is handy for letting those in your chat list know whether you can have a video chat with them--whether or not they have Webcams.
Yahoo The Internet has made it possible for people thousands of miles apart to communicate in real time without having to rely on making long distance phone calls. Emailing and instant messaging are fantastic tools, but with broadband Internet access it's now possible to see one another, too. If you have a webcam, you're ready to use video conferencing with friends and family around the globe. Yahoo Messenger is the perfect place to get started.

Head to the Yahoo home page, turn on Yahoo Messenger using the 'Messenger' link and log in using your account name and password. You'll need to create an account if you haven't done so already. Click the 'Messenger' followed by the 'Start My Webcam' option. This will load your webcam, and is among the ways you can get your webcam to begin broadcasting. Click on the camera icon that appears in a chat window while you are talking to a friend. Click on a contact from your Contact List, then click 'Invite to View My Webcam.' This opens a new IM window with your webcam active. Click the 'View Webcam' link while talking to others in IM. This will allow you to see their webcams. Use the 'Super Webcam' mode when you want to send and receive high-quality images and feeds. Broadband makes it possible to see one another in very high resolution, although even with high-end broadband your computer may slow down a bit because of the amount of memory and processing power this requires. Click 'Webcam' followed by the 'Who's Watching Me' button to see which of your friends is receiving your webcam's feed. Hope this helps

How to use web cam

How does a webcam work? There are two different ways to use a webcam at home — through e-mail and with instant messaging programs.
E-mail your video filesTouse a webcam with e-mail, first launch the software that comes with thecamera. Depending on the model, the process of e-mailing and recordingyour video messages may vary. Press Start or Record to begin the videomessage. Click Stop and then preview the video. You can then clickE-mail or Send, which will automatically open your default e-mailprogram (Outlook 2007).
When sending a video e-mail, the longerthe video message recorded, the bigger the attachment will be, so makesure the recipient’s computer can handle the size. The recipient of thee-mail does not need special software to see your video message; he orshe simply chooses to open the attachment and the mini-movie will play.
Instant MessagingA popular way to chat with webcams is in “real-time” with instant messaging programs such as Windows Live Messenger. Note that both ends must have a webcam to chat visually.
Duringa chat, there will be an option to start the webcam right on thescreen, or under the Options or Tools pull-down menu. In Windows LiveMessenger, click Actions > Video > Start a video chat. If youhappen to have a Microsoft LifeCam, starting a video chat is eveneasier.
The Windows Live Call button is similar to speed-dialingon your phone. Pressing the Call Button — located at the top of theLifeCam — will automatically bring up your buddy list, showing youwhich contacts are online. Simply pick one and start your video chat.
Youcan also blog your webcam photos. For example, the LifeCam one-touchblogging feature allows you to take a still photograph with yourLifeCam and post it directly to your Windows Live Space blog. Instantshow and tell, if you will.
To show off your favourite webcam pics, head to the Windows Live Spaces homepage, click Create your space, and start expressing yourself!
Helpful hintsBefore you start using your webcam, follow these tips on security, operation and webcam etiquette.
  • It’s highly unlikely — but not impossible — that someone would try tohack into your webcam to tap into the conversation or use the webcam tospy on you, says Payette. Sending recorded video messages via e-mail ismore secure than real-time Internet chatting.
  • Here’s alittle-known fact about some webcams: the user has the option to turnon a motion sensor function that transforms the device into a “nannycam” so it’ll begin recording once it senses movement.
  • Don’t expect terrific video quality. It’s often possible to adjust theresolution by toying with the webcam’s software settings. But thehigher the quality, the choppier the video frame rates.
  • Some webcams require an additional microphone to record audio, so check before buying.
  • Adjust your camera’s focus, point it towards your face and, mostimportantly, look right into the “eye” of the webcam so your friends onthe other end see more than just your forehead.
  • Webcam netiquette and dress are just like real-life: be polite, be courteous, and wear something casual but presentable.

I record a webcam video. i want to send it to

When you create a video using the webcam it might be saved in uncompressed AVI forma. Hence the file becomes very big thus it takes time to upload while sending by email.

You can convert the file into a compressed form like 3gp using a Converter, then it will easily go thru email.

You can look for any "3gp converter" on Google
