Battery over 5 years probably need replacing but good time to clean battery cables if they are corroded very badly replace battery cables and have battery tested first at any auto parts stores. before buying new battery.

I would take it to autozone or kragen one of them should have a machine they can wheel out to the van and test the charging system for free.It will check starter, alternator, battery, the whole system.

My 2004 chrysler pacifica will not start. it cant be the battery because i had it jumped with my other car for about 15 min. and nothing. then when i just gave up. i but the gear in neutral, and it...

It still could be the battery, your trying to jump the car for 15 minutes would have given it a partial charge. BUT I would suspect the park/neutral switch. So I would suggest that you "play" with trying to start your vehicle in park, then neutral, park, then neutral and see what happens.

Battery dead, boosts do not work, shift lever stuck in park. How do I get the shift lever to release so I can put in neutral?

Your car will not release into park unless you have charge in the battery. There is an electric solenoidwhich keeps it from releasing. It's used for safety reasons in case your kids are playing in the car.

Did the old battery need replacing , and or did the same thing ???? If yes then maybe its your altenator , take it up to auto zone and have it tested free of charge!!!! and if its good get a second opinion from another mechanic, or take out your amp and subwoofers =)

Electronic handbrake will not release Jaguar S Type 2004

Common problem - normally caused by low battery voltage. Disconnect battery for 10 mins (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR RADIO CODE) reconnect battery - then follow instructions on dashboard to reset park/brake. Use this method for all p/brake faults as 95% of the time it resets them. Hope this helps - good luck.

I have a 1994 Nissan Altima that when I turn the key it will not start, it will not turn over or anything. it acts like the battery is completely dead, but i charged the battery and the headlights come on...

Sounds like a security thing. Call a nissan dealer and see how to reset. On GMs you have to put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position and leave it on for 15 min. You could try disconnecting your battery for 15 min.

Car wont start

Put your key in turn it on dont start wait 10 mins remove key wait 10 seconds repeat this a total of 3 times. If that dont work try a different key do the same thing. If that dont work a dealer needs to probably replace and reprogram your ignition switch and keys
