Question about Kenmore Dishwashers

1 Answer

My Kenmore ultraGuard has never heated the water and throws food

It has never heated water, Repairmen kept saying it is fine. It also throws bits of food that remains on the dishes. We run the water in the sink to get it as hot as we can, (very hot), and keep it running during the whole wash. The duration of the "normal wash" lasts as long as 4 hours, and has never been shorter than 2 hours. I've learned to hate this dishwasher!

Sounds like a bad timer. Its not right. I disagree with your repairman's assessment. A typical wash cycle for a dishwasher is 20 -30 min.

I own a 1993 Toyota Vista Etolie noticed last week or so car cold & engine starting to over heat so kept water topped up. Then suddenly over heated and all water was gone. Looks as if water coming from...

Ya might put the car on ramps...fill the radiator with water...bring the car up to temp then shut it off and see where it comes from.

A weeping water pump will throw water on the belts in turn throwing water everywhere while running.

A leak in the radiator can spray water on cooling fan and completely coat the engine in the same way.

On ramps, you can get an underside view as well as top side to find the leak.

Kenmore Dehumidifier 129-25803, Pump System malfunction

I also have a Kenmore pump system 129-25803 but I do not have the manual. I have tried to find one online but to no luck. I also called the Sears Parts & Service and they do not have a listing for this type of dehumidifier. Just wondering if you have a manual you could share? Please email me at taylor005@eastlink.ca

Hi Jerry,
The ladies are right.

The appliance is called a steam table, and it operates on the same principle as a double-boiler. The design uses water as a thermal buffer between the heating element and the food, and ensures that the food is kept at food-safe serving temperature (varies by food, but typically over 140F, sometimes over 170F) but won't let the food get hotter than 212F so it doesn't burn or overcook the food.

If it's splattering boiling water, then it's overfilled and you should reduce the amount of water, but only by a little bit. A steam table should NEVER be allowed to run completely dry.

As for the steam getting you when you take out a pan -- that's true, and you do have to be very careful when you remove pans from a steam table.

Cold and hot water are mixed up.

I just purchased the same model and have the same problem. Call Sears and have a repairmen sent while still under warranty. The water temperature sensors needed to be replaced in my washer.

Kenmore microwave Model 72 8975590 (750 W) is taking longer to heat food. Takes 3.5 min to bring one cup water to boil, previously took 2,5 to 3 min. Does the element lose power over time?

I can adjust the power level so that circuitry seems to be ok. The longer water boil time could be partially due to the colder winter temperature of the inlet water. We'll just cook the food a bit longer as long as the magnetron is still working.

Cold water will not enter washing machine

Turn off the faucet in wall. Unscrew the inlet hose to examine whether there is clogging in the tiny screens. Both ends as well as machine input hose. Clear out properly. Open faucet to check. See that you have a "y" or "F" type adaptor for your hot and cold inputs of the machine. This is if you have only one faucet in wall for your washing machine. If this does not work you have to check your (plug off the wall first) wires to the inlet pump of your machine - this probably has come off or is loose. And if this does not work, your inlet valve could be defective.

Pl rate if helped.......

Microwave arced, wont heat now

I'm assuming that it doesn't microwave either. If it does...then the heater is bad. Sears parts sells them. Second guess is a blown fuse or thermosensor. Inside the pad housing, locate the internal fuse and replace it if blown. The thermosensor is a black plastic bit about the diameter of a dime and 3/8 inch thick and clamped to the side of the unit inside the control area. Test it for continuity and replace if open. If not either of these, then you have power supply issues or control panel problems. My bet: the heater blew out. Often, this is caused when you heat greasy foods.

Dishwasher

the water inlet valve is one of: 1.) electrically dead 2.) clogged with debris or: try this...unscrew the water inlet hose (after you turn off the water supply)...then clean the conical-shaped debris screen that you may find just at the entrance to the hose.
