Question about GW Security Home Security
I cannot see any images when I hook the cameras up using the VGA connection to the monitor. The cameras work when they are connected to the television using the BNC-RCA ports on the television. But not when I connect them using the monitor. Have tried everything possible.

I had exact same problem and it took forever to fix but I did fix it. If I plugged the camera into the tv it worked but when I tried going through the dvr no picture at all. The problem was the power supply cord to the cameras. It was bad, I happen to have another one and that was it. All cameras working!

Well, your going to need RJ45.
RJ11 is telephony and has 2 pairs of wires. With that, you could use the Blue/Blue-White for power and the Orange/Orange-White for video. Then your stuck.
RJ45 has 4 twisted pairs.
To find out which has power, use a meter to measure your 24 volts.

on most dvr 's the port is 80 for the web cam. you also need to set up the network settings and know the ip you are trying to hit and is it static or dynamic if dynamic it will change periodicly. for example if you set the network settings on the dvr to the rang of your local network it would be something like 192.168.1.10 so under your router you would open port 80 to ip 192.168.1.10. make sence. first thing i would do is make sure the network settings in the dvr are set to work within your network. unless you have an extra static ip you can put it right into the dvr. fi you need further help just ask.

SOURCE: can't view my cameras
The DVR will be programmed with an IP Address via the DVR main menu function (network settings) and a valid password. The network viewing software (web viewer) you will need to ensure that the IP address is entered correctly for your DVR along with your valid user password.
Trust the above info is of assistance if you require a manual in order to check your settings try this link http://tv.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/samsung/samsung_dvr_product_list.html
