Maytag gas oven cycles every 20 seconds

When the oven is up to temperature, it seems to short cycle, ingiting every 10 - 15 seconds for only a few seconds then going off just to ignite again 10 seconds later. Is this normal and why does it do it?

Yes it is normal . but i know your not the first to think its not , todays ovens are so tight , it only takes 10 seconds of heat to keep them at proper temp . it used to be that ovens where kept at a 3 degree sweep that is set at 350 turn on and up to 353 then off ,cool down to 350 and back on . this was a longer time off and a longer time on topday we keep to 1 degree ! 350 on to 351 off to 350 on and so on ....... so short berst of heat make for a more even oven ........ but i know i hate it too ! good luck

My 2008 Maytag double oven the lower door is locked, no messages on display and the manual says to push 'CANCEL abd Cook & Hold' button but does not unlock the door

f your 2008 Maytag double oven's lower door is locked, here are some steps you can try to unlock it:

Press Cancel/Off Key: Start by pressing the Cancel/Off key. Wait for 20-30 seconds, then try to open the door. Sometimes this simple latch reset can do the trick.

Power Cycle: Turn off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse box for one minute. After that, turn the power back on. Allow the oven to cool for approximately 30-90 minutes, and then move the latch arm to the left to unlock the door.

Self-Clean Cycle Interruption: If the door locked during a self-clean cycle, select the "Self Clean" option, and then choose "Cancel". Wait a couple of minutes, and then try to start the cycle again. If the self-clean cycle was started by mistake, press the Cancel/Off key. The oven will need to cool to around 200°F (95°C) before the door can open.

Remember to ensure that the oven is cool and the power is turned off before attempting any of these steps. Hopefully, one of these methods will help you unlock the oven door! Your manual might prove helpful. Oven is Locked - What to Do - Product Help ' Maytag

Temp change during cooking zanussi ZOP37922

Both gas and electric ovens will cycle on and off throughout the cooking cycle to maintain the set temperature. When the oven temperature has dropped below the set temperature, the oven cycles on again to provide heat and will cycle off again once the temperature is higher than the set temperature.

Kenmore oven cycles on and off every few seconds

Some ovens do cycle very often. if it is keeping the temperature steady it could be normal. Some ovens pulse the bake and then the broil to keep an even temperature in the oven this will cause a constant clicking of the oven control.

Is it normal that a whirlpool oven current varies between 9.7 and 20 amps

The heating elements on any stove vary in resistance as they heat up and cool down. When cold, the elements offer more resistance thus less current flows. As the coil gets hotter, the resistance drops and greater current flow develops. The thermostat cycles the elements on and off to maintain the temperature measured in the oven, thus the cycling of power used.

I need an owner manuel for Caloric Range Model # EST 345 I can'g figure out how to run the self cleaning oven cycle.

you might try the following, although it is the instructions for an old model, it may be relevant;

"The actual self-cleaning process is initiated by a simple 5 step procedure: 1. Set the range clock to time of day. Note: on models not equipped with an automatic oven timer, the self-cleaning cycle is preprogrammed for a 21/2 hour cycle. Use Steps 3, 4 and 5 only. 2.Establish the length of cleaning time by:
A. Setting the start time. Press and turn the start dial of the automatic oven timer clockwise to the desired starting time. B. Set the stop time. Press and turn the stop dial of the automatic oven timer clockwise to the desired stop time. Max time is 3 hours miniumum 1/12 hours. 3. Set the oven selector dial on the control panel to "Clean" 4. Set the temperature control dial to "off". If you temperature control dial has a "Clean" position, then set the dial to "Clean" instead of "Off". 5. Remove oven racks, broiler pan and broiler grid from lower oven. Close and lock the oven door by moving the latch lever as far right as it will go - into the locked position. If the lever is accidently dislodged restore it to the locked position. Otherwise, the self-cleaning process will not take place. Shortly after the cleaning cycle has begun, the oven temperatur reaches a degree in excess of the normal broiling temperature. The red "Clean" light will come on and the clean cycle will start. In a few minutes the door lock lever, which you have placed in the locked position, will automatically be secured to prevent the oven door from beging opened during the cleaning cycle. This latch remains locked until the clean cycle is complete and the oven temperature reduces to normal baking and broiling temperaturs. NOTE: Prior to self cleaning cycle operation, the oven and surface lights must be turned offed. The upper oven can be used."

Crosley (Maytag) CG3478VVD Gas oven not heating properly

It's possible but a failing (ignitor) can cause this too. It might be barely passing enough current to hold the valve fully open. Check the rating on the valve and then the current draw of the ignitor. Or sub in another ignitor. Also low gas pressure can cause it too. Have your utility co check for this
