Question about Tablets & eReaders
I have investigated multiple websites, and questioned many people but I am still an answer short. I have spent the last four days just trying to download angry birds... with no results.
The only thing I can make of your question is you want SU (super user) access, in other words root your tablet. The only way to do that is if someone creates an root image for your device. This is one of the best sites to ask that on http://theunlockr.com

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

XP Pro should run fine on it - I would assume that is what it came with. You may need to download additional drivers from Toshiba. I would check with Toshiba about the pen as well, but without it should still function as a regular laptop.

you should press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds because you can't remove your battery while it hung and try to restore to the factory setting when it can power off
to do factory setting you can follow this step (restore to factory setting will erase all of your data going back to the first time you buy it)
1. press the volume up and power button at the same time
2. when you see the logo appearing release the power button but keep holding the volume up button
3. you can see displayed menu and use the volume up and down to select, then to reset to factory setting please select the option that labeled wipe data/factory reset using the power button

Most tablets and smartphone use gorilla glass which is highly scratch resistant. It's probably just dirty, use a lint free cloth damped lightly with water and clean it. If it doesn't clean up post a picture of it.
