Can't get the disk tray to open

I need to retrieve the game disk before sending the machine in for repair. The two left lights flash upon turning the machine on and the tray is non-responsive. Is there a way to get the tray to open?

Take your face plate off and see if there is a small pinhole around the dvd drive and put a paper clip in it and push. If not you could give it a little bit of a whack on top of the dvd drive, I know a few people that have done that and it worked.

How do I get the game out of the console?

Unfortunately, if your console is under warranty, retrieving the disk will destroy it. The only way to actually eject the disk will require disassembly of the entire console. What has happened is that the disk was caught on the upper lip of the disk drive's housing, and fell to the back of the tray when the tray finished ejecting completely. This is a rare issue, and the process of causing this may have already damaged your game disk beyond repair, especially if you tried to forcefully inject the tray. My advice would be to take it to a local electronics repair shop and consult them on whether or not they are willing to repair it for you. If you simply must do it yourself, be in full knowledge that you will be destroying any warranty you have left, and if you do something wrong, you may break part, or all, of your console in doing so. There are plenty of guides on the internet for disassembling your console as well, so the information is there if you wish to follow that road. Either way, best of luck.

Powers button keeps flashing

This means that your DVD-ROM drive in your console is so fried, that the console cannot even detect that it is there. You will need a new drive, and if you don't have a copy of the unit's DVD-KEY, you will also need to hack the console temporarily to retrieve said key, as without it the DVD drive will not accept game disks as anything more than video DVDs.

Most likely your disk or dvd drive is dirty. Run the disk through a disk cleaner and run a dvd cleaning disk through your drive.

If that dos not work, try removeing disk, close drive, turn off console, unplug power supply, wait 10 or 20 seconds, then reconnect power supply and try again.

If that fails, assumeing other disks will read, your disk may have a major flaw. You can check with your local game store, they often have a machine that may restore your disk, (most places that I know of charge like 1 or 2 $).

Tray won't open flashes centre green. Opened

The center of your Xbox 360 has malfunctioned due to overheating which has caused the tray to have various problems. The solution? Simple! Replace the hard drive or send it in to Microsoft!

Disc dive out of blown up xbox

If the tray does not open when you press the eject button, then manually open it to retrieve your game disk as below.

1. Unplug your Xbox console from the power source.

2. Find the manual release button, ususally located in a small pinhole to the left of the eject button under the disc tray.

3. Insert a straightened paper clip or other small tool in the hole at an angle to the left. Gently push the paper clip to try to press the manual release button and partially open the disc tray. This may take several tries. Typically, a thin paper clip works better than a thick paper clip.

After the disc tray partially opens, pull the tray with your fingers to fully open the tray.

******** If you insert the paperclip in the hole and find an obstacle, this indicates that your Xbox console's manual release button is located in a different area of the console.*******

Look under the "O" or the "B" in the word "XBOX" that appears on the tray. If this is the case, insert the paperclip under the "O" as outlined above. If you find an obstacle, insert the paperclip under the letter "B”. The manual release button is located in one of these three locations.

PS2 disk tray problem

This has happened to me before. You will have to open the PS2 and clean the laser which is under the tray(or on top i forgot).
Use a cotton bud to clean it but be extreamaly careful cause if you put to much pressure on the laser your PS2 is gone for good!
