ngfam1 here for you!
I am happy to be of assistance!
Did you check the owners manual first to see about the blinking codes?
Usually the codes mean you just have to have factory service remedy the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a situation that you will need service!
If this dryer is 10 years old or more do not spend any money on it!
The new ones are much more efficient! If you have to replace it buy a Speed Queen , it will do 8 loads a week for 25 years!
It's the last washer and dryer I will ever buy!!!! And less expensive than a top of the line unit!
Here is the service company I refer my appliance customers too!
A&E Factory Service
A Nation Wide Company. / Available 24 / 7 for arranging appointments! In the USA.
You will be fine now!

I am not a repair professional. I am just a 78 year old man who has been making his own repairs for about 50 years. Therefore the dryer ID doesn't mean
anything to me. Over the years, I haven't had much trouble with my dryers. The E56 error code means high motor current. To help you find out why, I suggest you go to www.applianceaid.com where they have very good trouble shooting and repair information on dryers and other appliances. I think you'll find what you need there. You can probably verify the meaning of the error code there. Good luck with it. If I have helped you, please rate my advice on fixya.

Hello plauano - Typically error code E40 indicates that the washer has detected a door switch or main control board problem. Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes (this usually clear most false error codes). If it proves to be ineffective contact a professional to move forward accurately.
