Memory card reading full but I just inserted a memory card.

I just inserted a memory card into my digital c310 camera. I had 7 pictures on the internal memory. The manual says that a new card needs to be formated but I was unable to do this. The camera says memory card is full. What do I need to do?

Make sure you didn't accidentally bump the lock function on the memory card.

Remove the memory card and then transfer the photos to your computer and if you have a card reader format the memory card in the computer and install it on your camera and check it its works ,if you get the same error then remove the battery from the camera for 20 min and then check if it works ....

Do i need to turn off my c310 camera before removing the sd card?

Nothing bad will probably happen if you don't turn off the camera before inserting/removing the memory card. But something bad is less likely to happen if you do turn it off first.

I suggest you get into the habit of turning off the camera before inserting removing the memory card.

The C310 will accept SD cards up to 2GB in size and SDHC cards up to 32 GB. 1GB SD cards are getting hard to find, but 2GB cards should work just as well.

BTW, FixYa doesn't have an online store.

Hello

  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Why does the camera Ready light glow steady red?

The cause and solution may include one of the following: The camera internal memory or card is full. Transfer pictures to the computer, delete pictures from the camera, switch storage locations, or insert a memory card with available memory. The camera processing memory is full. Wait, and resume picture taking when the light turns green. The card is read-only. Change the storage location to internal memory or use a different card.
