Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Along with signing up for minutes, TracFone's service requires that you re-establish a service contract as well.

TracFone dones this for several reasons:
1. It keeps the company's database clean (old accounts expire and they don't have to maintain the records in their active database).
2. It gives people incentive to sign up for packages with higher minutes (e.g. the more minutes, the longer the duration that your service contract lasts).
3. They want to flash advertising at you (the more times that they can get you to their site to view their sponsor's ads...the better). Expiring short-term service contracts ensure that you'll have to make repeat visits to their website.

You'll need to go to the TracFone website and use their online form to renew your service contract.
http://www.tracfone.com/ - Click on "Already Have a TracFone" on the right.

When you visit their site, make sure you have your Serial number (IMEI or ESN number found under the battery on the phone), as well as the SIM Chip number (number on the little grey card that you can slide out of the interface - also under the battery).

I believe that you can also renew your service contract by calling their toll free number: 1-800-867-7183

Hope this helps!

Maybe you could go on to the web site and try to reactivate the phone. I would try that or the next step would probably be to call
tracfone for assistance.

I have a similar problem with my Samsung on Vodafone, but the "emergency calls only" error message. Solution is to re-boot it by power off and on. Problem appears irregularly, but functions OK once re-booted. If this solves your problem, then I assume that the other error messages are simply the sort of behaviour associated with computers hanging etc.

My phone used over 90 min. of air time when it was not being used, what can we do?

The time you had has reached its expiry date.

With TracFone, a prepaid cell phone company, you purchase minutes on a monthly basis with no contract or monthly bill (unless you want a monthly plan). Unfortunately, these minutes come with a service expiration, so if you don't use up all of your minutes withing 90 days or so, they will "disappear" from your cell phone. There is a free and simple way to recover these minutes.
Promoted by Try to remember when your service expired. TracFone offers a 60-day grace period with lost minutes; if you are past this deadline, the minutes are gone forever.
Call executive resolutions at 800-876-5753. This phone number is solely for the purpose of recovering lost TracFone minutes.

Tracfone customer service

That should automatically scroll across the bottom of your phone when it's on. Otherwise you can go into settings, then airtime info. It will give you balance of minutes & date due.

Can I transfer the number, days left and minutes to a new tracfone?

You'll have to contact tracfone customer service to do that. Contact them from a phone other than the one you're trying to deactivate. You'll have to give them the imei number for your new phone to transfer it to.

My friend has A TracFone and she let the service run out but she still has minutes left can I activate the phone again and retain her current number?

That depends on how long ago the service ran out. If it's only been a few days then the number should still be available. If it's been a long time then TracFone may have assigned the number to someone else. The best way to find out is to contact TracFone and ask.

Why is my service disabled, but I have minutes?

With TracFone, you not only need to have minutes, but also service time. Check your phone's display to see if your service time is up. (I have a Samsung TracFone and it tells the number of service days remaining, but my old Motorola showed an expiration date. Your Motorola model may show the date too.) You'll lose service if you don't add more time by the end of service date, even if you still have minutes. As long as you add some more airtime within a short time (I don't remember the exact number of days), you'll keep the same number.

If the phone shows you haven't reached the end of service date and you still have minutes left, there's some other problem that TracFone will need to look into. Their customer service number is 1-800-867-7183.

Hope this helps and that you're back in service soon. Thanks for using Fixya!
