"Protect" error - HTZ110

When I switch on my HTZ110 Samsung Home Theatre System the digital screen on the dvd player appears with the word “PROTECT” and the dvd player immediately switches off? Then I held the power-on button the second time around then the dvd player managed to switch on, I then put in a music CD, I could see the CD playing
but WITHOUT sound. What is the problem and how do I solve this. same problem here with samsung HT-Z110

My Samsung home theater HT-Z110 has the same problem, whenever I switch on the unit, the word "Protect" will appear, then automatically the unit will switch off. What will I do with this problem? please do help me.

The word 'protect' comes up when turned on, then turns its self off.

I think the problem is "it's a Samsung"!! Brand new and all.. The old saying, You get what you pay for :(

Home Theater System Is Displaying "Protection" As soon as the unit is turned on, the word "PROTECTION" will flash on the front panel of the unit and SHUT OFF. This error message usually indicates that the fan in the back of the unit is not on.

The PROTECTION feature automatically shuts down the unit to avoid further damage. The unit will need service if this error message is displayed.

My unit was bought from Germany and it is being used in Romania. I called a representative in Bucharest and they told me that it's a short-circuit somewhere, maybe with the speaker cables or inside the speaker and to remove all speaker cables from the back of the unit and see if it runs normally. If not, it may be an internal short-circuit. Didn't help. I'll check the fan at the back of the unit, as V_CROSS said in his post.

I have bouight a samsung home theatre system that comes complete wiht a DVd player - i also have a samsung blu ray player - naturally ithought they would be compatible!! how wrong i was!! the connections...

You have several ways to do this. You can hdmi cables from the two units and plug them into your tv if it supports hdmi and run the audio out portion on the back of the tv and hook that into one of the audion inputs on the surround unit. Or you run audio directly out of the bluray using rca, digital coax, or digital optical cable. Turn the surround reciever to the corresponding input that you choose to use.

Ghosting of picture from a Panasonic home cinema system

There must be a fault in the screening of the internal wiring to the scart outlet in the home theatre system. I simply changed the way the player was connected to the TV and the interference disappeared:-

1.) I used the RCA video outlet instead of the scart lead. Picture quality was not compromised. FYI the Panasonic Plasma TV I have has only RGB video input sockets at the back, so I used a scart to RCA adaptor to overcome this problem of connecting old technology to new.

2.) The surround sound when playing DVDs is generated directly from the home theatre system so there was no need to connect the audio from the home theatre system to the TV

3.) I used a pair of RCA leads to connect the "audio out" from the TV to the "audio in"on the home theatre system to provide the option of TV sound through the home theatre system.

LG dvd player connected to 5.1 home theatre

Dont now your sytem but check Home theatre sytem must be switch to 5.1 display and not dvd display. if stil no sound check in setup off dvd for soundsetting like PCM, RAW , 5.1etc and select each one till you get desired sound.

Presume your conections from dvd to hometheater is conected 5.1 cables or 1 digital cable and not stereo(2cables)

T v and home theatre sony bravia

As most home theatre systems offer no analogue audio input and only use the audio coming from the dvd being played the short answer is no.

If your home theatre system has a digital input and the tv has the corresponding output then yes you could me able to connect the two. Otherwise you could try to get hold of a analogue to digital converter and convert the tv's audio out to digital.

Cannot play DVD's or CD's at all!

Wow, doesnt sound good. My only thought is that on new devices they often have tape and cardboard inserts to protect the device for shipping. Make sure there isnt any tape or packing material stuck somewhere in the device. Otherwise it must just be a bad player. They shouldnt have any problems exchanging it since you just got it. Good luck!
