Question about KitchenAid 24 in. KUDP01FL Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

Model KUDS30FXSSO, Unit attempts to start. Blue light on the front of the door comes on indicating the cycle is starting. Pump runs a few seconds as normal. Then the maching sounds like it trying to start the next step three or four times. The blue light goes out. The washing cycle then switches to cancel/drain, ( I opened the door to see which control lights were on.) runs the drain pump then stops. The green light on the front panel does not come on indicating the cycle was completed.

SOURCE: cranky dishwasher

You want to make sure that the dishwasher is level and secure first of all. Then I would look into the door latch assy. Sounds to me that you are not making all the latch switches when closing normally. When you are slamming it, you are making the switches. The heating element runs through the neutral side of switches, therefor if the switch is broken or the latch is not making, no heating of the water. This results in a default or very long wash time. Check this out first....Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: Heating element circut malfunction In Dishwasher. Wash not workin

Great job walking through the possible causes! Hey, it is time to check the heating element itself. First visually, looking for brakes and then feeling for "bubbles" on the round element rod. Also see if it moves excessivly when you wiggle.
If no problem obvious, after you disconnect the dishwasher from power, use a multimeter to check for resistance (Ohms) If none, look for broken (heavy guage) wires and replace what's broken - probably the element itself.
If the element checks out good, suspect the thermistor then the controller/PCB.
Good Luck! Please report back what you find, OK?

SOURCE: Kitchenaid Dishwasher Control Panel lights - some don't light up

The problem is the control panel. You may have to shut the power off for a few seconds to reset the control board, then check to see if it works. If not, the control board has a break in the wiring or the keypad is no good.

Washer will not run or complete a diagnostic.

1. The washing machine needs to be plugged in and in stand by mode with all indicators off.
2. Choose any one button on the washer's console except Power, Start, or Stop. Press/Hold 3 Seconds - Release 3 Seconds - Press/Hold 3 Seconds - Release 3 Seconds - Press/Hold 3 Seconds.
3. If the diagnostic test mode has been successfully entered, all of the indicator lights will glow for five seconds with 88 on the time display. (If it didn't work try #2 again One one thousand...Two one thousand...Three one thousand)
4. If there are any saved fault codes they will be displayed. If there are no save fault codes all indicator lights will turn off for a moment then back on with 88 displayed and the automatic diagnostic test mode will begin in five seconds.
5. If you are unable to enter the diagnostic test mode, press the power button and verify that the button you were trying to use operates properly to program the washer's cycle function. There may be something wrong with that function button. Find another button on the control that appears to work and try to enter the diagnostic mode with that button. You may also want to verify that the user interface has a good connection to the washing machine control board at the P11 terminal.

Note: Pressing the STOP or POWER button at any time to exit the washing machine's diagnostic mode.

HE2 front loadable washer doesn't move fm wash to rinse to drain

Sounds like the door lock. It will not advance to spin if it thinks the door is open. There is a instruction sheet inside the unit behind the lower panel. That will give the error codes for the flashing lights.

My Duet washer starts and runs for few seconds, then stops.

unplug machine take small panel off on bottom front of your washer, there should be a twist knob on pump, unscrew this (bearing in mind water will come out) you will find a strainer that catches debris before going through pump, clean out debris and re-intall. plug machine back in and try again.

Will not spin. clothes soaking wet, spin cycle shuts off at 7 mins

is your door lock light lighting up? if not you have a bad board and wax motor in the door lock. if you look at the board and locate r11 and see it burned this is 100 percent your problem. now do you have delay wash cycle? if so set it into delay and then locate your motor control board which is in the bottom you need to oipen the door and remove all four screws. be carefull the door may fall off don't remove the door but do remove the outer piece to locate the motor controller. Locate the jp4 connecter and remove it. make sure the unit is unplugged when openning up and removeing these. Now plug unit in if the unit starts tumbling, you may have to hit start, but if the unit continuously tumbles then you know that your motor and your motor controller are ok. If they do not then you have a bad motor/motor controller. Now if it tumbles freely you have 3 out of balance sensers one of them is bad they have 2 blue wires going to them check the connections and make sure non of them are broken and let me know how it goes

GE Profile PDW7880G00SS Dishwasher will not Start

Re: My dishwasher start light flashes and the timer display is blank.

That is a fault condition, if the display is blank it is probably a faulty control board.

Unplug the appliace from main, or trip circuit braker to cut power for ten minutes.

If display is still blank on startup, then replace the timer control assembly.

Duct fan comes in, igniter lights, but no flame

Remove the front panel. Tape the door switch to the closed position. If the thermostat is calling for heat the furnace should do the following: a light on the circuit board will flash and then the exhaust blower will start. A few seconds later (10-15) you should hear clicking at at the circuit board and an orange glow should be seen thru the small viewing port. A few seconds later the gas valve should open and the orange light will turn blue. If the blue flame only lasts a few seconds and then goes out, their may either be a blockage not allowing the flame to travel to all the burners and not allowing a flame sensor to sence flame, shutting down the unit. After a few cycles of not starting, the circuit board will flash a series of codes that you can read if you look on the back of the front cover. It will give you a starting point where we can research and come up witha more difinitive answer. Let us know what you find for codes.
