is it 1 website or all websites that are not viewable? if its 1 website then its possible the site is down at the moment or there could be a dns issue and typically time will fix a dns issue (24-48 hours) if its all websites it could be your firewall settings or tcp/ip settings.

HOW DO U CONNECT A NOTEBOOK TO COMPUTER WIRE INTERNT?

There is an ethernet port on the notebook. All you need is an ethernet cable that goes from your ISP modem to your notebook. On some ISP's (internet Service Provider) it's possible that it does not give you internet access. What you may have to do is disconnect the power cord from the modem wait 5 to 10 seconds and then reconnect the power cord.

When you get home, do the following:
  1. Connect your computer to the modem with an Ethernet cable.
  2. Go to start -> Control panel -> Network Connections
  3. Find a connection called "Local Area Connection"
  4. Right-click and choose "Properties"
  5. Scroll down until you see "Internet Protocol TCP/IP"
  6. Double click it.
  7. Make sure that both buttons for "Obtain...automatically" are checked.
  8. Click "OK" until all windows are closed.
  9. Open a command prompt (Win-key+R) and type "cmd"
  10. In the following window type "ipconfig /release"
  11. When that is finished type "ipconfig /renew"
  12. When that is finished, type "ipconfig /all > C:\fixya.txt". This will create a text file on your C: drive.
  13. Copy the contents of the file and post it here as a comment, if you still can not access a webpage.

My internet is not working. When MSN messenger checked for basic conductivity it said that the "Default Gateway appears to be offline." Is this a problem with my computer or with my whole...

-that is stating that there is an issue between the gateway AKA your router and the internet.

-try restarting computer first, if that fails to give you an actively working connection. if that fails try the following and that should clear up any issues you may have unless the internet is down for whatever reason, unpayed bill etc...

-so if there is a modem and a router unplug all devices from each other and unplug the router and modems power cords. restart computer. after windows boots up plug in ethernet cords back appropriately (telephone looking cables) to each other. plug the power cord to modem first then the router's power cord and your internet should be restored.

Open Internet Explorer. In the menu on the top click on "Tools", "Internet Options", click on the "Connections" tab, click on your dial up connection, on the left, click on "Settings" and put a check in the "Automatically Detect Settings" box. Click OK.

Click on "Lan Settings" and do the same thing.

Clear your browser history and restart Internet Explorer.

Can`t set up cos I don`t know what it means by server not found. Where will I find the server? I`m not good with computers! It says firefox can`t find the server at en-us. www.mozilla.com.

you need more detail, is it a laptop or desktop, if you have windows the nit must have worked at some point to get fire-fox, the message you are seeing is one that means the web server hosting that web-page could not be contacted usually meaning your internet connection is down, or not connected or a bad url or a site that is no longer hosted. however it looks like its happening as soon as you open Fire-fox based on the url you mention, meaning that its you internet connection, are you connected wirelessly or via ethernet, ethernet looks a lot like a phone cord but thicker and the end looks like an oversized phone cord connector, the cord can be just about any color, if you are wired then make sure the cable is tight at both ends, try restating the pc if its wireless you should have some software that allows you to choose which network you are connecting to, then you will need to use it to select your wireless network.
