Bought a new whirlpool estate washer today. brought it home. pulled yellow strap and removed long straight metal pin. (evidently broke 2 shipping pins off because they fell into their little plastic cups (i checked). installed feet. hooked up water hoses. plugged it in.  filled with water but will not move. no wash, no agitation, no spin, no drain no matter where we set the dial. motor hums. internal breaker clicks then resets when cools. cannot see anything holding the tub but it is very hard to move manually. ANY SUGGESTIONS???? Help please. wife upset. thanks - alan / tennessee

My guess is that the lid switch did not get fully plugged in at the factory and has become unplugged in the shipping process. But probably best to let warranty handle it.

Tub is off balance found a small spring broke, but do not know where to replace it. and some pins came off the bottom of a plate with some plastic covers around it.

The pins with plastic over the are no concern at all they were used for shipping when the machine was delivered it had a yellow strap under the lid that had to be pulled to release the tub and free it up so itdidnt bounce around and break something during shipment while being bounced around in the back of the semi truck that delivered it .
Now about the small spring that was found on the left side of the frame to the tub plate, to replace it the cabinet must be removed, to remove the cabinet remove the phillips screws from the back of the control panel(where the timer, water level switch ect are) pivot the contol panel up and to the rear and look and find (2) brass colored clips the roughly look ess(s) shaped one will on either side of the cabinet and attach to the rear plate, place a flatblade into the front portion of where those clips fit into the cabinet and pry them up and out, then disconnect the plug to the lid switch(it will be near the right side clip),open the lid place your hand in the front of cabinet under the lid and pull the cabinet off(whilei didnt search for it look on youtube for a video of how to remove the cabinet from whirlpool DIRECT DRIVE WASHER

They forgot to take off the screws on the back when unpacking the machine which screws do I remove there are 4 silver ones i am clueless

There should be a yellow strap just pull it and it should release the shipping pins into some cups inside the machine remove the yellow strap completely from the machine there should be 2 or 3 pins attached to the strap. The Shipping pins in hold the tub in place while in transit to the store so it wont crack the tub. If there not removed it will shake real bad and cause damage to the machine. Hope this helps

Can't leval washer put leal on machine everything shows leval when it spins machine is real loud and shakes hard

is it brand new? Did you pull the yellow strap out of the back? You cannot just cut it, as there is a long metal pin that goes thru to hold the drum in place for shipping.

How do you take apart an agitator on a Whirlpool Estate Washing Machine

The agitators on Whirlpool manufactured washers usually have a split design. The upper portion is known as the "auger", the lower portion is the agitator. To get the whole assembly apart just follow these steps:

1. Remove the auger center cap/dispenser by either pulling straight up or gently placing a flat blade screwdriver into a slot located in the cap.

2. If the agitator is equipped with an inner cap with a handle, remove this as well by pulling straight up.

3. Remove the center bolt of the agitator. You will have either a 7/16” hex bolt or a recessed square plastic nut. If you have the square recessed type, use a 3/8” to ½” ratchet adapter to remove.

4. Remove the auger by carefully pulling straight up. Try to keep all the cam assembly parts assembled while doing this, so do not pull too hard. This will make this reassembly much easier.

5. With the auger removed grab the agitator at the bottom flanges and pull straight up to remove from the gearcase shaft.

If you need an illustration of how the components go back together, refer to any of these websites for helpful exploded view diagrams:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com

NOTE: When reassembling, make sure you get the auger seal seated properly. If it is not sealed, water will leak into the gearcase shaft and ruin it.

If you have any questions, or need further assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Vibrating on spin cycle.

If the machine is new there is a possibility that the shipping pin didn't come out completely. If you set the machine up yourself, there is a yellow plastic strap that holds in the electric plug. You need to pull, not cut this plastic strap as it has a pin that is about 8-10" long that goes through under the tub to secure the machine for shipping.

Whirlpool 9yrs old 8100 series

This machine comes with 2 to 3 pins installed to hold mechanism still during shipping. It has a strap out the back that you pull out that removes these. They should be out for normal operation. If one is still in, that's the problem. Also, lift back of washer about 5 inches and set back down. This locks in the legs.

Highspeed spin is not stable...

Is this a brand new machine? If so make sure the shipping pins have been removed. They are attached to a yellow strap coming through rear of machine. Pull the strap straight out and there will be 3 pins that are attached to it. You should be able to move the basket and tub around by hand freely. If this is not the problem you may have a base pad broken or missing.

Shaking

We have finally resolved our problem thanks to annetipu's note about someone mentioning a rod or pin that had to be removed. On the Frigidaire website, you will find the following:

14. Vibrating sounds. Tumble action washers: Shipping bolts or braces are still in the washer.

Remove 3 shipping bolts, 3 yellow spacers and 3 metal "P" clamps from the back of the washer. Remove the access panel from the front of the unit and remove 2 yellow shipping braces and large Styrofoam shipping block. Replace the access panel.

This solved our problem. Washer is wonderful now!
