Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Hi there. I bought in 2009 my logik 1002 2gb mp3 player (sigmatel 3507 chipset, original firmware 3.2.17, MP3551) but after 2 years it started to don't get recognized by the pc but as stmp3500, so I couldnt access and/or ownload/upload the contents (ie mp3 files, wav voice recordings). found and tried some logik firmware for sigmatel 35xx chipsets, but no significant changes (player and voice recorder were working as usual but still no way to let the device communicate with the pc and download my files). So I downloaded and installed Trekstor i.beat censo version 2.620.571 thinking that might work as maybe compatible. The device was finally recognized by the pc. By mistake I also reformatted the device, and when I unplugged it and tried to turn it on as mp3 player, there was a bad change. flashing display but no more chances to access the usual menu and start to enjoy some music. Now I realized that I am in the situation described on mympxplayer. org/viewtopic.php...ish_rel=-10000: "Hint: When the USB driver contained in the firmware (usbmsc.sb or hostlink.sb) is compatible with your chipset and you get a succesful flash, the player will be recognized as an USB disk. In this case, do not overwrite this file when you try new firmware, only change the other ones. The firmware is modular, so there is a possibility of some firmware to work properly with the USB driver from another version. Well, if you got here already, in the worst case you'll end up with a flash drive in the shape of an MPx player." Is there anything it can be done to sort the problem, meaning got my sigmatel chipset recognized as such (and eventually given and install the original sigmatel firmwre) and the mp3 player working again? further details: cpu stmp 3507, L100-T96-T03679-0723 on the actual circuit there is 230-53350-EF000, and yet MP 3350 MAIN PCP before the "accident", from an internal menu option: SW: MP3551 Version: 3.2.17 Int Media: 1926MB on the phisical ram: hyniz KOR hk27uud8a mbhj95440 Any aimed suggestion will be greatly appreciated, as well who can provide me the original and specific firmware for this mp3. (I am currently using a philips go gear ;) but I would love fix my reliable logik mp3 as well. Many thanks. Devid

All you need to do is pull the radio out of the dashboard and disconnect it from the battery, then reconnect it and thats all you need to do, just remember that once you have reset it, it will ask you for a Code, so i would suggest that you do not reset it unless you have the code for it. Please also remember to give this solution a good rating.

This depends on bit rate or quality and format. If wma then more space will be required. I use 192k which is the highest rate. I can put 3 hollywood movies from my purchased DVD's and store them on my emo. I do this in Ubuntu, the new African Operating System. I first convert the DVD to Mp4. Then I convert the Mp4 to SMV with a program http://www.cs.bgu.ac.il/~yurac/interests/smv-encode. This program allows you converts mp4 to video.mp4.smv. Emo can hold six motion pictures at high quality due to its 2G storage. But, what I do is use 1GB for video and 1GB for music. I am 50 years old and work at a customer service center. On breaks and at lunch I can listen to fm stereo, mp3 from cds, motion pictures from DVD in smv format with high quality, look at pictures from my photo album and of course do voice editing at work or on the road. I can upload the wav dictation files at full quality to my computer and email them to whomever. Camcorder files can also be converted to SMV video this is important.

I finally found that upgrading the driver ( www.trekstor.de/en/products/detail_mp3.php?pid=75&page=6 ) fixed this problem. I wiped all my songs but this may not be necessary. Good luck!
