Retrieve a fail to send email from a web page?

Tried to contact an individual via their web page process - outlook express. Received a sever failure notice saying my email address was not accepted. The email i tried to send and failed via outlook express, can it be retrieved?

Probably not. The email could have failed or numerous reasons. I always CTRL+A and CTRL+C before I post or submit any form online because things don't always work as planned and you have no control over someone else's site.

You could have been clicking on a mailto link and didn't have a default email client set. This would give you a MAPI error.

It could be that Outlook Express was setup as your default mail client but it's not setup to use, so it couldn't open the default folders and your email failed for this reason.

If you use an application on your desktop, then set it to be the default email client. If not, and you only use web-based email, then copy/paste to your email client instead of clicking submit.

Websites should send server-based email and these issues would be eliminated. Also, using mailto, allows spammers to harvest email addresses on websites. Although it can be written to make it difficult, most people don't make the effort.

There are a number of versions of Microsoft Outlook available. These instructions provide a step by step guide to setting up Outlook 2003, however if you use a different version, the instructions can be adapted using the settings section.

open the Outlook 2003 options panel
From Outlook 2003, click on the Tools menu and select Options.

set up an email account

choose the option Add a new email account and click on Next

Delete all messages in you Outbox.
Go to Tools, Accounts and delete whatever Windstream account you have in there.

Start all over setting up your Windstream account.

Here's a link on how to do it.

Print it out so that you can refer to it while setting up your account.

When you scan a document it must be scanned with OCR software. The default scanning method will scan a document as a picture, not a document with letters and words. The OCR software will recognize the letters and put the scanned document in the proper format to open it with MS Word. The software that you scan with should have a setting for OCR, read your instructions or help files to get the details if you can not find them very easy in the software you use for scanning. .

The problem with using Outlook may be that you have not set it up properly to get your emails from your email server. You do not need to use Outlook or Outlook express to send any documents, you can use your web based email server if you like, but you can use Outlook Express as well. You just need to add the document to send as an attachment to the email.

To set up Outlook Express to get your email, you must first find out what the POP3 and SMTP setting you must use. You can get that information from your email provider, it is different for every email provider. Then you go to the "File" menu at the top left of Outlook Express and select "Identities" and select "Add New Identity" and from there you will go thru a wizard to guide you thru the process of setting up your email client. Just make sure you have the POP3 and SMTP settings available for you to put into Outlook Express when prompted to in the wizard.

system infected by virus so you need to scan it using potent antivirus,
Yo can download free AVG antivirus at free avg website(you can search it in google) download and install. however the infection is severe then you need to remove your hard drive and then attach it to other computer and then scan that drive until all virus is deleted. if this not resolve the issue then you have to back up your files and then format and reinstall the operating system.

Large file sent on Outlook Express immobilized my system


Hi

you should never even attempt to send such huge files, first of all that will take hours to send, and will most likely be rejected by the service, and as far as I know there is no email service that would allow to send such huge files, gmail, with the bigest storage I know, 7GB, has a 20MB limit on file sending.

You can't email that large file, burn it to a cd and mail it over.

Is there any way that contacts can be added automatically via email inbox? I used Outlook Express for years but since my system crashed I am now Windows7 and Outlook 2010 (formerly XP and Outlook Express).


im not sure i have windows 7and had to indivdually add my email adresses into my hotmail you might save them to a file and send them to your outlook email adress open and double click on each one to add or right click to adress book this works on outlook express

In non-technical terms, it is a program that lets you send and receive emails from your computer. It is one of the most popular email clients in the world simply because it comes free with Internet Explorer (and the Windows operating system). Now Internet Explorer comes bundled with Windows which is the most popular operating system and it soon became the browser of choice on most desktops since it had some great features when compared to its nearest competition, Netscape Navigator (at that time). So as Internet Explorer became popular the usage of Outlook Express as the default email client increased to make it the leading email program on the Internet.
From where do I get Outlook Express? - It's a free download If you don't have Outlook Express, you can simply download the latest version of Internet Explorer. Outlook Express email client will be installed on your system once you install the browser.

What does Outlook Express actually do? Outlook Express allows you send and receive emails from your computer. The good thing about Outlook Express (or any decent email client from that matter), is that it lets you store the sent and received emails on your system. Thus, Outlook Express acts like a emailing center via which you send, receive, store and collate emails.
What is the difference between Outlook Express and Outlook? Outlook Express, as I mentioned, comes free with Internet Explorer or Windows operating system. It's a lean and mean email client. Microsoft Outlook on the other hand is an email client but comes at a price. To justify the cost of the software, Microsoft Outlook has tons of features and functionalities which are not present in Outlook Express.
How is Outlook Express different from an online email service? The difference between Outlook Express and an online email service such as GMail, Hotmail, Yahoo! etc. is that it lets you browse, read and compose emails from your computer even when you are not connected to the net. To download emails, you do need to connect to the Internet. Email messages are actually stored on your system, so, you can still read the emails you have received and sent in the past. An online email service works ONLY when you are connected to the net.
Another great feature of Outlook Express (and any other email client worth its salt), is that it lets you read and write emails at your leisure. Let us say you are traveling from Philadelphia to Chicago. You download all your emails via Outlook Express in Philadelphia and then board the flight to Chicago. Now when you open your laptop on the plane and start Outlook Express, you can not only read emails but also write replies and compose new emails. Outlook Express will store all these replies and new emails on your system. Now when you arrive at Chicago, connect to the Internet and open Outlook Express, the program will send the stored email messages.
Outlook Express also lets you segregate email messages into folders. For example, all new emails are stored in the Inbox folder, the emails which you have sent to people will be stored in the Sent Items folder and any emails that have yet to be sent are stored in the Outbox folder. In addition to these three folders, Outlook Express has two more folders. These are the Drafts and Deleted Items folders. The Drafts folder stores email messages that you have composed and saved while the Deleted Items folder contains all the deleted emails. [Note: in order to completely delete the emails from your system you need to empty the Deleted Items folder.]
You can also create folders inside the Inbox folder to further segregate email messages.
FYI, you can configure Outlook Express to segregate incoming email into different folders using rules and filters. For example, potential spam can be junked directly into the Deleted Items folder.
What kind of email accounts can I use in Outlook Express? Outlook Express can be used for any POP3 or IMAP email account. POP3, which stands for Post Office Protocol 3, is a set of rules with which one accesses and downloads emails. IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is a set of rules with which emails are assessed.
If you have a web site hosted on a server, most likely the hosting package would come with a few POP3 email accounts. Thus, yourname@yourdomain.com would most likely be a POP3 email.
Can I receive emails from online email services in Outlook Express? Online email services such as Gmail provide free POP3 access to the email account; you should read configure Gmail account on Outlook Express if you want step-by-step instructions on how to do that. Hotmail used to have this feature but it has since discontinued it. Other popular online emails services might charge a small fee for POP3 access.

Aol uses proprietary software, I have never used it as it takes over your computer slows everything down and is a pain in the neck in general. I doubt that outlock which is a pop3 email program is going to work with AOL, unless they have updated their system. The best thing that you can do is to remove it from your machine, and use the MSFT outlook or outlook express. Or even Gmail oe Hotmail if you like that web based format. To set uo your outlook, just launch the program and use the wizard in outlook or outlook express to run you through the setup process. It will need the settings that you got from your ISP, like the names of the incoming and outgoing servers, if aol is your high sped provider it will have a name like xxx.aol.com, and smtp.aol.com, then your name and email address with password, then you won't need that aol stuff. I just used aol as an example, like for example something like secureserver.secure.net, and smtp.comcast.net, and they will be pop3 servers, aol is a web based like a web page, not an application, outlook is just far superior in every way, on your isp'd home page you should find all the info, under setting up your email, good luck

I am using a web portal to access my outlook emails and do not go into the office. I need to archive my email from the web portal can this be done


One solid solution is to setup your Email account on Outlook or Outlook Express and then use that to download your email / post office locally. From there you can back up this post office to an external hard drive or CDR (depending on the size of the files) and create a restorable archive of your email. Please contact your email administrator and inform them you need your Account / Email Server settings and that your going to use outlook to download your email.

Tip: - Before you Send/Receive email with your Outlook or Outlook Express - Change your Advanced Email Account settings to LEAVE EMAIL ON SERVER, this way the web portal will still contain a current copy of email and match what is downloaded in the outlook email client.
