O enter the bios Press DELETE or F12 or the key displayted on the screen saying Press key to enter setup. Its the first screen you see when you turn the system on, if you see a logo you can press ESC to go to the display screen with the information..

the JMP is a 3 pin JMP close to the processor. The defaults should be fine, so you dont need to adjust the jmp settings.

My dell 160l does'nt have video can i install?

A Dell 160I is a printer, as far as I know. They don't come with video cards, although many modern printers have a small LCD display.
Apparently yours doesn't have this.
If you don't have it, then you're stuck with what you have.

After bios update aspire 4410 not boot

nplug computer, set jumber to reset RTC and remove batery.Remove every device on the PC including peripherals except for CPU, 1 stick of RAM, DVD OR FLOPPY (whichever you will reflash from).Plug PC and power on [YES, with battery OUT and jumper still on RESET RTC], hold delete (MUST USE PS/2 Keyboard) if you're lucky you'll be able to enter the BIOS and use EZFLASH to reflash BIOS, it supports USB thumb drive provided it's formatted to FAT.Reflash (the flash could have been successful but they released a bad buggy BIOS, if so then reflash with the earlier version) After flashing the PC will reset itself DO NOT INTERFERE! When the computer boots up you should expect a CMOS error message (it's normal because you just reflashed).Power off, unplug PC, replace battery and return RTC jumbers to normal.Reconnect everything and plug PC back in and power on and enter BIOS settings.

Aspire one switches on and all I get is a blank screen. The bios window does not come on.

Did you updated or flashed bios, in the recent past? It may happen if bios is somehow flashed or updated wrongly!

Please connect an external vga (monitor), to the vga output provided and see if display comes. If it comes, then it may be the problem with: i) the lid sensor unit or the vdu (inverter circuit or lcd or ccfl); ii) bios setting like 'vram sharing' or 'video output selection'; iii) software settings like 'video output' or 'resolution selection' etc.

Please check the ram(s): open the ram cover->unslot or unclip ram(s)->rub the teeth of ram(s) with an eraser briskly->set them back->if problem persists, replace the ram(s) and see.

It may be the mother/main board too, probably the south bridge, if you are not a professional please don't try a repair.

Best to consult your system admin/vendor.

I have dell vostro 1500 model laptop.i forgotted the bios password.where is the bios jumber on mother board and jumber number ? please send me this information.

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper. But if you still want to reset the jumper locate the jumper as per the info from above link.

1. On board display card is not working 2. When we attach external vga card display is working but no BIOS image in mother board and it gives an error that BIOS image is scan. 3.Key board is not working.

who makes the mother board and what bios is it using? can u access the bios at boot up? if so, is the integrated video option on? have you checked for upgrades / updates for the bios ? if you can access the bios, remove all non integrated devices from the mother board, select the option for "default settings" save and exit. then restart. after assuring the keyboard is plugged in the correct port. it should be color coded.
