Hello, As long as you can see and here the picture with no problems you should be fine. The tv's put it heat which make things expand and contract. Sometimes things creek and crack. I've had two tv's that do that. Don't hesitate to keep a fire extinguisher handy though along with some alarms.(houses should have these at all times anyways)
it sounds like a backlight issue. It could be as simple as a few bad caacitors. If you already replaced the set and you just want $$$ toss it on your local Craigslist as a parts/repair set. There's always TV shop owner and parts scavangers that will buy the set as is. Price wise, if the set is in good condition and come with remote, and pedestal, I would ask $60 as is but you may get more
If you have not tried it: unplug the set and if using a cable or sat box unplug that as well---wait for a while and plug both back to see if a reboot of either cures the problem or not.
For the first one, please list the model number and count the blinks. Also, can you please post each problem separately. It will get too confusing trying to address 3 sets with different but similar problems.
Thanks,
Dan
how many times it flashes?? if its more than 6 times you have a problem. just lick the red wire that goes to the picture tube.if it does not kill you, you are lucky
I have the same problem. The only way to get the TV to come on is to unplug it, but once you get it back on it turns itself off again in a few minutes.
