The E24 error code for the Juki CP-130 sewing machine usually indicates a problem with the thread take-up lever. Some common causes of this error include a thread take-up lever that is not properly installed or adjusted, a bent or damaged thread take-up lever, or a thread take-up lever that is blocked by lint or debris. To resolve the issue, check the thread take-up lever and clean it if necessary, and make sure that it is properly installed and adjusted. If the issue persists, you may need to have the sewing machine serviced by a professional.
You should probably contact the manufacturer with questions. Hopefully, you did some thorough research before purchasing this machine. From the info I found, it appears to be a straight stitch only machine. I don't know anything about this machine, but I would be hesitant to purchase a straight stitch machine for sewing swimwear. Usually, swimwear needs a stretch stitch or zig-zag capability. Just my thoughts...
check that a bit of the broken needle is not interfering with the bobbin case movement
if the breakage was hard enough it may have altered the needle / hook timing which will cause a knocking sound as well
whether its bias or straight does not matter to machine. loosen the bobbin tension and put more tension on take up spring by inserting a screwdriver in the slot of the top thread tensioner. turn to right.
try adjusting the top thread tension and see if that helps also try changing the thread. also change the needle--make sure it's the right needle for the fabric being sewed.
