Why won't facebook resize my new cover picture?

Cover photos are 851 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall. If you upload an image that's smaller than these dimensions, it will be stretched to this larger size. The image you upload must be at least 399 pixels wide and 150 pixels tall. But if you have an image of high resolution, you must first edit it using Photoshop or any image processor.

Emailing photos

Hi,

I would still take them at a high resolution. That way if you would want to make prints they would be of good quality.

If you want to email them the best thing to do is to download them and then open the pictures you want to email with whatever editing program you have and use the resize options. If you resize them to around 400 X 600 or even 600 X 800 pixels they should be a good size to email. Once you resize them use the Save as... menu option to put a suffix on it.

For example, if you had a picture named Image_0001. Open it at full size. Resize it. Then select Save as... and name it Image_001_small or Image_001_email. That leaves the original intact and now allows you to attach the smaller one to an email that is a nice size.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for using Fixya.

How do i resize picture to square aspect ratio ? that is to resize 640x480 pixel to 600x600 pixel without stretching the photo or changing the aspect ratio

Well, you can't. The best you can do in a photo-editing program such as Photoshop Elements, is to crop the picture to square dimensions.

You can use kodak easyshare program to do this or you can also download Picasa program which will also do this.

Portrait photos are chopped top and bottom

Hi there, the screen resolution for that frame is only 800x400 pixels. When you're in your photo editor doing resizing, make sure you don't make the picture any bigger than that. Try it out and let me know how it goes.

Motorola z3 , cant recieve picture messages

any photo you take with your phone can be sent, the 1600x1200 pixel photos are the largest this phone will take which is a 2.0 megapixel photo, when you send these, your internet provider will require them to be a certain size, for instance tmobile will require that the photos are 640x480, so your phone will resize them, before they are sent via mms. If you send them by bluetooth directly to someone in range they will be the full 1600x1200 pixel size or what ever size you take. Recieved photos must be this size or less and JPG format for them to be viewable on your phone... if they are larger they will not be recieved , this is normal. due to size constraints.. let me know if you need any further help... :-)

My pictures are too big to load

You have two options:

First: use a picture management software to resize the pictures to a smaller resolution such as 640x480 pixels.

Second: reduce resolution on camera. The smallest resolution possible is 1024x768 on L200.
To do so in your Samsung L200, press Fn button. Then scrool up or down until you see SIZE on-screen. Press button to right until 1M appears, then press OK.

Printing photos

That is called pixelation and is usually the result of enlarging a photo, whether it be resized larger on the computer or printed at a larger size than it's original pixel dimensions.

Check your printer settings for a setting like "resize photo to fit paper" and uncheck it. Or print from a photo that is larger than the paper and it will reduce the size without any pixelation.

With digital photos you can always go smaller than the original, but rarely ever larger.

depending on the cameras largest pixel setting, which will either be 320x240 or 640x480, that is in real terms the size of a postage stamp in pixels. When saving 640x480, this is roughly the size for posting on the web, but if you need to make it larger you need to use a third party software similair to Paint Shop or Adobe to resize the actual pixels of the photo to 50% more for example by means of 'smart sizing'.
