Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: realistic patrolman pro16A radio scanner, do not

I have checked several sources, and they all show that the PRO-16A is a 16-channel VHF/UHF CRYSTAL scanner. Remove the bottom cover and you should see the crystal sockets.

Looking for a manual for a Realistic Patrolman Pro 40 UHF/VHF Scanner. I don't even know what kind of power supply it needs.. LOL

Hi, that unit looks to be a mobile scanner and if I'm seeing right then you would need a Base power supply that could supply 12volt to it. Course you could also use a computer power supply and find the 12 volt line out on it. Here is the link to some spec's for it. Looks also to be crystal controlled so it cannot be reprogrammed. Good luck.

How do i program this thing! I know it is almost antique.its a realistic pro-54 patrolman scanner.Do i need to take it and have crystals changed?can i do it myself?please help!!!

The Pro54 is a Radio Shack VHF/UHF crystal scanner. There is no "programming" done to this radio as it is crystal controlled.

Crystals are user changeable and are relatively inexpensive at about $8 each. Availability is declining. You can find suppliers on the internet - one such is scannercrystal.com. You'll need to know the frequency of the service you wish to monitor, make sure it is in either the VHF or UHF band supported by the scanner and finally obtain & install the crystals for those frequencies into the scanner.

The down side is if you move, most if not all the crystals installed will not be in use in the new area - making them worthless to you. You would have to find an interested buyer (probably in your old own) for those specific frequencies to recover some of your original investment.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply - thanks.
