Iphone screen beoken, black liquid showing; phone stops working
I bought the phone from ebay with a broken screen. It was working perfectly until a few days ago black liquid was spreading out of the cracks. It takes charge, but does not show anything except stricking lines across the screen. What is the problem & what can I do?

Hello basicly the the liquid is the lcd that lays between the screen that gives you the display if this fluid escapes it will no longer display properly and as it leaks more display will be lost ,to solve you will need to replace the screen

It may be a broken menu button contact, broken menu button or (less likely) broken logic board. If Apple doesn't
replace it for you, you can find the menu button or screen module on Ebay or at iPhone
3GS Repair and there is a guide
that shows you how to put in the part at iPhone
This may sound rather obvious but you probably have a broken camera module. The good news is, it's not too hard to replace it. Here is an iPhone Repair Guide that shows how to open an iPhone. Cameras are easily available on Ebay. If you want somebody else to do it for you go to iPad Repair
You have broken the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) the touch screen digitizer and front glass is a seperate unit so that is why it still works. The LCD is the visual part and can be purchased online and fitted yourself if you feel up to it and is not that expensive, Videos of how to do it also on youtube. Or you can take it to a mobile repair centre to get them to do it for you.
1. Remove Sim Card 2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears 3. Replace Sim Card 4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.
Also,Try this: 1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G. 2.) Start up iTunes 3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G 4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable 5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset. 6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.
