Fist day i got my phone (unlocked from ebay of course)
I WAS ABLE TO SEND TXT, but not receive/send photos.
called cingular, got the photo problem fixed, NOW as of wed 6/22 around midnight I am unable to send texts only.
I CAN recieve/send pics and recieve text. But simply not send text out.
I called cingular back yesterday morning they said it was bc there was storms in texas, wait it out all day and try periodically through the day to see if the problem is fixed, then call back later in the evening or early this morning. well I did, and the customer service rep pretty much told me bc I didnt buy it from them in sh*t out of luck and I need to buy a new phone.
but why on earth would it work, then all the sudden NOT work when we put more specified informtion into the phone? I followed the reprograming thorugh the messages setup and browser sessions when I was on the phone with cingular to fix the problem.
anyways... any help would be awesome.
I can't help with the problem, but this sounds all too familar. I got my razr about a month ago, unlocked from ebay, and I can't send or recieve pictures. I took the phone to cingular, but they told me that my problem was that this was not a cingular phone. Maybe you can e-mail me what they did to your phone and maybe it will work on mine. I will very much appreciate your help. my e-mail is email@example.com

You can txt yourself the sound and when you receive the txt you save it as a ringtone. If you have a computer with bluetooth capability you can send ringtones that you can make yourself through bluetooth. I use create-a-ringtones.com, make my own and transfer them to my phone. If anyone else wants the ringtone I just txt it to them. I just did about 18 ringtones for my husband and he has the motorola adventure v750.
Hi, Been a UK phone (Unlocked) should not effect this, contact your provider in NZ and tell them you want your WAP and MMS settings sent to your phone, you could however go to there website and find out what number you can send a "Settings" txt to them, some providers do this automatically other manuelly and other the way I just mentioned. Good Luck!
hi this is easy to solve either call your service provider and they will send you the settings via a txt message witch will update your phone or the other way i did it was by going onto my service providers homepage and navigate through the site untill you find the section with the settings you should then be able to send the settings to your phone that way either way should work let me know if your still stuck after doing this
You need to call your service provider and ask them to send you the MMS settings.
They will give you a PIN number and send the settings via a txt msg.
When you receive the txt. select SAVE or INSTALL.
Input the PIN when prompted.
Is this an unlocked phone from another carrier? If so you need to call AT&T to download mms messaging, and Medianet so u can download games and such. Another thing to mention is, if it is from another carrier you may not be able to get games. My razr was from Cingular, I cracked the simlock (cingular refused to give me the key, none the less), cost me $10. I called my carrier (T-mobile) and they were more than happy to send the links to get my txt and web working. The only thing I can't get is games. Backgrounds and Ringtones download fine. Sorry, am babbling, Call your carrier, and I am sure they will send you the links to download txt and medianet. I looked on their site and can't find the links to help you.
I had this problem also, make sure your browsre is working since all text messages go through it. I had to program in a new network ,this information should be available to you by contacting your carrier(I have the t-mobile & cingular iformation for this if needed). If browser does work then check message setup(you may have incorrect service center number or gateway entered, also make sure SMS is turned on). To check setup go to message center, select message inbox, select menu, select setup (again you can get the correct info by contacting carrier or I have t-mobile if you would like it)
