Refer Acer m3970 Can not Install windows 7 of new hard drive

Factory back-up discs and recovery discs are intended to repair defective installations or to kick-start an installation that refuses to start so it is unsurprising they will only go so far.

Your system disc might be defective. This is a problem I have had with XP in the past. It is possible your CD/DVD drive has a dusty lens and is unable to read the disc properly or perhaps the new hard drive has a problem.

I suggest you instal the new hard drive as a slave in another computer and format it and run the chkdsk utility. If all is well reinstal in your computer.

Take a close look at your system disc checking for flaws and perhaps put a lens cleaning disc in your CD/DVD reader before trying again.

My Lenovo T61 laptop Mouse Pad stoped working i have updated the drivers, reformated the system but the problem still persist and secondly if the system is turned off it refuses to come on

Instructions
    • 1 Reboot or turn on the computer. Press <F11> to enter the service partition. Note that this message will stay on the screen for only two seconds. If you miss the screen, reboot and try again.
    • 2 Select "Full recovery" in the main menu of the service partition and follow the onscreen instructions to begin a recovery of your system. Allow the recovery procedure to finish. Reboot the computer and allow Windows setup to complete reinstallation of your software and drivers. Allow the installation to finish and reboot the computer again to finish the recovery.
    • 3 Reinstall any programs and run Windows Update to ensure you have the latest security updates and protection for your computer. Copy any backed up data back to your hard drive.

I have a Toshiba A45-S121 laptop. I upgraded my hard drive from a 40GB hard drive to a 320GB Western Digital. Loaded Windows XP and formated drive in FPTS format. The computer rebooted to the hard drive...

Best possible solution put back your 40GB and try to get an external casing for your 320GB to see if it works. And try windows on NTFS instead of FPTS, so reformat your 320GB and install the Windows XP again.
I hope this solution is helpful.

Drive got deleted

hi, you could either replace the hard drive for a larger one or invest in an external hard drive, these are really cheap at the moment and you can purchase a 1TB (1000gb roughly) for less than £80. i recommend ebuyer, fast delivery and value for money. (can i plug ebuyer?)

Will not complete boot sequeance

Several possibilities. 1. Your windows installation is corrupted. You will need to use your recovery CDs or the recovery partition to reinstall windows. 2. Hard drive failure causeing windows corruption. 3. Bad memory. 4. Bad motherboard. Chances are, it is one of the first two. When you first turn on the computer, press repeatedly the F10 key until the laptop boots into recovery mode. It should automatically go to a place where you can do a soft recovery of the hard drive or, that is to say, a non destructive recovery, only removing the windows files and reinstalling the original windows files. This leaves your data intact. After the operation and if it is a success, you may have to reinstall some software programs again if they don't work but your data will remain in tact. If that doesn't work, do it again only when the recovery screen comes up, press the advanced button which will take you to a complete system recovery where it will reformat your hard drive and reinstall your laptop to its factory preset, just like it was the day you bought it. If neither of those work, you need to get a program that will run a scan on your hard drive to check it for errors but, normally, the first solution will do just fine for you.
