LT1042 Cub Cadet Mower will not move

Was mowing and mower stopped moving. Will not move forward or reverse. Looked under mower and saw a spring hanging down with one end broken. Touched spring and it fell off. Spring is about 3 and 3/4 inches long and .050 diameter.

My 1500 series cub cadet 42" mower with hydro transmission runs good but mowes very slow. What could be the problem?

Is the tractor moving slow or are the blades moving slowly? The belt on the mower blades may be slipping. If the tractor is moving slowly look to see if the transmission needs fluid.

I have a Cub Cadet 1605 and it does the same exact thing. Try the PTO switch on the dash. I replaced mine and it works fine. Hope this helps.

Cub cadet starts but won't move forward or reverse ? what should i try to do?

What model? I have a 1554, that I just took to the dealer, for repairs, for the same thing. The motor starts, the blades engage and cut, it just stopped moving forward, or reverse. If I remember, I'll get back on here and let you know, unless you already know?
