Singer Touch & Sew 7462 - Needle hits bottom of bobbin case

The needle hits the bottom of the bobbin case and grinds against the metal. Also the bobbin won't thread. This happened after the material kept bunching.

I have and old touch and sew 758 with the same problem. Needle is hitting metal around the bobbin case. What to do?

I am having the same problem. Just bought the machine today. Thinking about returning it unless someone can tell me an easy fix. All the lights flash and long beep when it happens. Can't sew.

With the needle hitting the bobbin case , it sounds like it might be out of time. Which I am sorry to say is not an easy at-home fix.

Model 140m. Why doesn't the bottom bobbin loop to the needle?

The hook pulls the top thread around the bobbin. Remove the needle plate and turn the hand-wheel toward you while watching the needle. The hook should catch the thread as the needle is on it's way back up. The loop may not form since there is no material or needle plate, but you can see that the needle and hook are in a position for it to happen. This is called "timing".
A simpler answer might be bent needle, wrong needle or needle in backwards, all simple mistakes I have made.
When putting it back together be careful of the black plastic bobbin case as it is often easier to get it out than to get back in correctly.

Every time I use this machine something else is wrong with it :-(. Now the bobbin thread us bubbling up in the back of the material and there is a grinding sound as the needle hesitates to move. What

Try these suggestions
1. Change the needle--use a needle that's for the fabric being sewed
2. Rethread the machine--top --make sure to use every thread guide
3. try a different bobbin--make sure bobbin is inserted correctly into the bobbin case, & make sure the bobbin is turned the correct way in the bobbin case
4. make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever
5. Clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or threads

The noise is because the machine is trying to raise or lower a needle and can't move. Several things to check. Did the needle break and jam in the bottom thread? Is the needle bent or jam? Did the thread jam in the bobbin area? I had a 'knot' of thread build up on the bottom and it hooked itself into the metal clip on the bobbin so that the needle couldn't raise. If thread jams in the bottom carefully cut the threads until you can free the hoop and material. Then check to make sure all pieces of thread and fuzz has been removed in the bobbin case. If it happens again check to see if the bobbin case or the throat plate is scratched or bent. If you are stitching Free Standing Lace on this machine or a piece with over 20,000 stitches I recommend starting with a new full bobbin and a new needle. As you get toward the bottom of the bobbin, thread seems to have a high likelihood of tangling or looping.

Needle was hitting bobbin casing - reply was that the machine needs a hook timing adjustment - can I make this adjustment or do I need an expert?

Sounds like it's advanced.... but take it in and have it done professionally... have him lube and clean and check for cracked parts while you are at it.

I was sewing along with no problem and then all of a sudden it jammed. I can't move the needle up or down without a lot of force.

There is probably thread jammed in the raceway area, take out the bobbin case and raceway if it is a front load bobbin

Needle will not pick up the bobbin thread.

The first thing a person will say is that the machine is out of time. Thats very possible, but before you go to that extreme there are some other things you can check. Is the needle in all the way? Is the scarf in the needle facing the right side of the machine? Is it threaded correct?
