i have new ink cartridges and instead of printing, it is printing blank pages. i just got new ink and i took off the tape off.

Same problem...but all cartridges are clear of tape. Paper feeds through the printer, printer makes noises, but nothing is printed on the paper -- same result whether attempting to print photo or document

Cleaning and deep cleaning do not help and when I try to run the printing tests...nothing prints

I have just installed new ink cartridges in my Canon PIXMA iP3000 and it is only printing blank pages

I installed cartridges that were refilled at Island Ink Jet and when I turned on the printer the error light would blink. The same error light was on before I added the refilled cartridges.  several of the ink cartridges were empty, so I refilled them.  The manual has a fix for 10 blinks and 12 blinks but not 13.  I assumed it was the refilled ink cartridges but replacing them with new ones did not solve the problem.  What could be wrong?

Be sure you removed cartridge protection tape before installing cartridges.

CANON MP210 NOT PRINTING BLACK DESPITE NEW CARTRIDGE. ONLY PRINTING COLOUR WHY?

Did you take off the tape on the nozzle when installing the color cartridge? If you didn't do that, take it off, if you did, just run a couple black and white test pages to get the ink flowing.

Only black ink won't print. Even with new black 3e and new black 6 cartridges.

The black ink is a pigment based ink, that is it consists of particles suspended in a solution. The colors are dye based and have no particles. This being the case when the black ink dries and clogs the print head the particles are left behind. I would suggest removing the print head and letting it sit on a paper towel moistened with warm distilled water. Do this on a surface that is both waterproof and disposable, i.e. a plastic disposable plate, since the hope is that ink will flow out. Let this sit for about 20 mins, reinstall print head, making sure the electrical contacts and clean and dry, then the cartridges and try cleaning cycles again. If still no luck replacement print heads are available at the address below.

IP4000 - How can I force the printer to use the large black (6) ink cartridge?

Do you mean the large black ink as in the 3e vs. the 6? If so, the large black, 3e, is a pigment based ink and the printer should only use it when print text and black and white things. The 6 black is a dye based ink and the printer should only use it when printing photos.

Not understanding why there's two black ink cartridges

One tank is reserved for colour printing and the other one is for grayscale printing ( Black and white). Watch out as when you run out of ink and you keep trying to print a document with empty tank cartridge it will cause your print head to go bad. The cost of a new canon print head is the same as the cost of a new printer. Canon over priced the print head.
