Inverter and backlight are obviously working if the screen lights up, which, leaves the video cable. One method is to remove the switch panel cover, starting from the sides and gently unsnapping it and then pressing down on the connector that fits on the motherboard, where the cable from the monitor goes. If gently and then firmly pressing the connector (wear rubber gloves to avoid static), gets the screen to power up with an image, place a bit of wadding over the connector, just enough to keep pressure on and refit switch panel.
If that fails I think you are looking at a new cable
Step 1: Shut down your PC completely. Step 2: Turn on the Power button. Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.) Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Last know good configuration". Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.
you shouldn't of installed it because if you would of ran the windows 7 compatibility thing that is on the disc, it would say that your computer is incompatible.
You should buy another copy of windows xp and install that.
It sounds like it might be getting to the user accounts and not being able to log in. I would start by going into safe mode--> Right before the windows splash screen comes up, start pressing the f8 key. Then when it gives options, choose safe mode. If it gets to the user screen this means its either something in your startup, or the user account files.
Once in safe mode, you can select the administrator account, and create a new user account, to see if you reboot to normal mode and it lets you log in as the other user.
