Question about Craftsman 16" High Garden Tractor Snow and Dozer Blade
I have a craftsman snowblower. It will run fine for a while and then it will act like it is running out of gas and quit even though i have plenty of gas. Once it quits it will usually start back up and then die again. Occasionally, when I try to restart it, I get a flame that comes out of the muffler.
the engine is getting to hot or the oil level is to low check to make sure the engine is getting the air that it needs while running they have air vents in hood as well as on sides of most of those tractors or i would mow for a while & put in a cool place to cool down if i can further help e-mail me wade at firstname.lastname@example.org

Chances are the gas vent (or gas cap vent, as the case may be) or air or gas filter are clogged or dirty. replacing and/or cleaning them should take care of the prob.

It sounds like the carburetor is running out of fuel.First make sure the tank is full then loosen or remove the gas cap when it starts sputtering to see if that corrects the problem. Then with engine off remove the fuel line that goes from the tank to the fuel pump, hold it low and see if any fuel flows out of it,if not lightly blow air backwards to the tank,(with fuel cap off),then see if the line is plugged. Next remove the fuel line that goes to carburetor from the fuel pump, crank the engine and see if any fuel flows,if so the carburetor should be cleaned by removing it and disassembling it.
