Snowblower acts like it is running out of gas

I have a craftsman snowblower. It will run fine for a while and then it will act like it is running out of gas and quit even though i have plenty of gas. Once it quits it will usually start back up and then die again. Occasionally, when I try to restart it, I get a flame that comes out of the muffler.

SOURCE: It Starts and runs fine for about 15 minutes then

Chances are the gas vent (or gas cap vent, as the case may be) or air or gas filter are clogged or dirty. replacing and/or cleaning them should take care of the prob.

SOURCE: mower dies after running for a few minutes

It sounds like the carburetor is running out of fuel.First make sure the tank is full then loosen or remove the gas cap when it starts sputtering to see if that corrects the problem. Then with engine off remove the fuel line that goes from the tank to the fuel pump, hold it low and see if any fuel flows out of it,if not lightly blow air backwards to the tank,(with fuel cap off),then see if the line is plugged. Next remove the fuel line that goes to carburetor from the fuel pump, crank the engine and see if any fuel flows,if so the carburetor should be cleaned by removing it and disassembling it.

I have a Ariens snowblower deluxe 30 which is a year old. Starts fine and will run. Unfortunatley it is running way to low. I have replace the gas with fresh gas ran it through completely

It is very possible the carbureator needs a cleaning. Moisture can corrode the inner parts of them if left all summer. I find that the fuel usually does not go bad over the summer. I always start my snowblower once a month over the summer and then have no problems when the snow flies again. There was a time when mine was losing power and quitting also. There is a screw on the bottom of my carbureator that needed adjusting. If you are lucky that may be all you need. By turning mine in and out a bit I found the spot where the gas was correct and it worked fine again.

I can start my barracuda but it won't run at more than idle

Timing problems, bad or warn cam shaft lobes, fuel pump going bad, no pressure. Worn corroded rubber gas tank lines, from the tank to the hard lines, just forward of the gas tank, under the car. Inspect for gas leaks.

My troy-bilt snowblower will not start. I stored it right last winter. I filled it with fresh oil & gas two days ago. I've done the starting procedure over and over again. Added fuel stabilizer and seefoam...

Check to see you are getting spark at the spark plug. Take the plug out and put the plug wire on it and ground the the nut on the spark plug to the engine block and crank the engine and see if you get spark at the plug. If so then your carburetor has to be taken apart and cleaned.
