Question about Tomtom ONE GPS Receiver

NEED CONNECTION WIRE FROM TOMTOM (XL EUROPE MODEL) TO COMPUTER

DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY A CONNECTION WIRE FOR MY TOMTOM XL EUROPE WHICH CONNECTS INTO MY COMPUTER. MY TOMTOM IS NOT GETTING A SIGNAL NOW (AFTER WORKING FOR ABOUT A YEAR) AND I UNDERSTAND THAT IT COULD BE BECAUSE I NEED TO GET NEW UPDATES DOWNLOADED ONTO THE TOMTOM. UNFORTUNATELY I CANNOT FIND THE WIRE WHICH CONNECTS THE TOMTOM TO THE COMPUTER SO IF YOU COULD LET ME KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY THIS ACCESSORY I WOULD BE VERY APPRECIATIVE. THANKS.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Cannot get spoken street names

I have the TomTom XL V2 UK, ROI & Europe and it doesn't speak the street names, if that's what you mean.
Presumably your model is the same.
Check the specifications to see if 'Text to speech' is supported.
If not, it won't say the names.

Down loading Europe on my TomTom 1/3

Yes you can I have europe and canada on mine.

just plug your tomtom into your computer and start tomtom home

On the computer screen for tomtom select ADD MAPS

Here you can select and buy the maps you need.

Once you have confirmed the purchase you will be given instructions on how to download etc

Some maps may take a little time to install to the tomtom itself.

you should also ensure there is enough space on your tomtom
If not you will have to get an SD memory card.

I use a 4gb one that still has lots of room to spare

TomTom XL Text-to-Speech not working

I had the same problem, before realising that text-to-speech on the TomTom XL on'y works if you've selected a *computer-generated" voice - and not all of them are. "Samantha/English-US" is computer-generated, for example, but "Tim/English-UK" is not (it's a recorded voice). When choosing from options in the "Change voice" menu option, check the top-right hand corner to tell whether a voice is computer-generated or not. Hope this helps.

Cannot get map to work

First make sure you have a backup of your NEW ONE XL. You should be able to connect your XL to your PC using USB but not use TomTom home software. Your TomTom should appear in "my computer" as a drive . OR , put the SD card in a USB reader connected to a PC , that way you can look at and copy from or to the SD card.
You should be able to copy the map you have to the SD card directly ( if there is enough room on it ) , if theres not enough room , get a new bigger card , copy all the backup files you already have on your PC + the map you want. You might / should be then able to activate that map in the XL using the codes you say you have for the maps. if you try to do this using TomTom home it might have some restiction to stop you activating the required map but hopefully you should be able to do it manually as described above rather than use TomTom home. ... GOOD LUCK .

One xl europe software

Software updates are free, maps are not.

To download software updates, you need to download Tomtom Home, and connect tomtom to a computer.

Download Tomtom home here: TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems

To get maps click here.
