Belt is not adjusted tight enough when being fitted, if no adjustment can be made by moving the motor then the belt may be stretched and will need replacing, the drum bearings may be faulty and causing the pulley to be out of alignment, water may be getting on to belt causing it to slip off.

SOURCE: hotpoint washing machine belt come off

To refit belt, remove top cover and rear lower panel at bottom of washer.
Tilt the m/c towards you.,you may need assistance to hold m/c.
Put the belt round the motor pulley first, and then fit it on drum pulley, slowly turn the pulley feeding the belt round as you go, it will be very tight, so be careful not to trap fingers., just keep going until belt is on, there is no adjustment needed as belt is self tensioning.
The belt needs to sit in the middle of the pulley.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

SOURCE: fitting new belt on hotpoint washing machine

check if plug is loose on motor,in the general area where the belt was changed has anything been disturbed, cables i mean?,sounds like the motor brushes may be worn(this would cause motor to stop),they are situated 180degrees apart at one end of motor, they are easy to change, there is a spot at brushes to put a screwdriver in to remove brushes-hope this helps

My machine won't spin. The belt is OK. Any ideas? Brushes possibly? Thanks, Ian

Could be brushes, only way to be certain is to remove motor and check them for wear.
Replace if less than 4 or 5mm long.
Could also be blocked pump filter.
To check , remove large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean plastic filter inside hose.

Hotpoint Aquarious 1200 IE When spinning the drum ocsillates violently and is very noisy.

Remove drive belt, and spin drum by hand, if noisy or rough, then bearings have failed, if no noise, then could be suspensioon leg problem.

This usually indicates that the sensor which determines that the door is shut properly could be faulty.

My WMA33 does this occasionally. I manually push the door in and up slightly with my knee - and then start the wash cycle. This seems to work every time.

Failing that you will need to replace the door sensor. A call to hotpoint may help.

Hotpoint wma 34 front loader will not spin

Open the rear panel and check for a broken belt and whether the motor spins. In case both are OK it could be a bad capacitor issue as well. Good luck!
