Question about Hitachi 53UDX10B 53" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Hitachi 53UWX10BA separated colors.

Hi, I'm having a similar problem two what's listed in the two postings below, but neither posting says what the fix was, just thanks for it... Anyways the problem is if I turn off the TV and turn it back on either five secs or five hours later the image will split into three separate, overlapping images of red, blue, and green within 2 secs to 5 mins. The only thing that stops this is leaving the TV on all the time and just turning off any input when I'm not wathing so that the screen will go dark and the sond cuts out. I figure this will burn out the lamps prematurely since they don't actually trn off when I do this, not to mention if I have a power outage it starts all over again anyways. The only way to get the mages to come back together is by continually turning the unit off & on for anywhere from 30 mins to 3 hours, and even after 3 hours t doesn't always work. Please HELP!!! Thanks! -Leigh Clow lclow002@tampabay.rr.com Hitachi Mo# 53uwx10ba double image

Replace the convergence ICs you can get replacement ICs at the following link with free installation instructions. Use two STK392-150 ICs they are good durable ICs for your model,
Heres the link.

Hitachi 53UWX10BA HDTV adjusting color

Hi, Your tv model has a small light blue color button inside for manual adjustmnet mode. You will have to remove the front covering below the screen. its just attached with velcrow. Then there will be a centre wooden pannel with the the switching box screwed to tv front with around six screws.Open this panel and look to the left corner of the chasis boards in front of a small metallic box. Thats the switch you have to press to get into manual adjustment mode. use remote to adjust the colors. once done press it again to exist. Visit www.fixurtvs.com to find out more about tv FAQs. Thanks if you found it helpful.

Hitachi 53UWX10BA HDTV with convergence problem for blue

No there are no quick fix options for this fault. The convergence amplifiers operate similar to a high power audio amplifier, so if there is an impairment anywhere in the system, it will result in distorted audio, or in the case of television convergence amplifiers, a color won't align. The convergence power pacs need to be replaced and the out of tolerance precision resistors located near the power pacs need to be carefully checked and replaced as necessary.

It is also possible that there are root faults that cause the amplifiers to go bad which include bad connections or a bad digital control module. This repair is possible for anyone having basic electronics knowledge and soldering skills.

Hitachi 53uwx10ba turns on & off when off red flashing light/clic

Same problem. Replaced both convergence ICs about 5 months ago. Worked fince since then and just recently no sound, no video, blinking red on front panel and clicking sound. I suspect that the ICs went bad again and blew a resistor or two. I used cheap Chinese ICs instead of the Sanyo ones and thing this is why. I'll be looking at it again and post solution.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture
