I put in the wireless router and I'm able to access from my computer but I my laptop can't locate. What do I need to do?

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

DONT KNOW THE NETWORK KEY AND CANT GET ON THE NETWORK

You can use a pass-phrase scanner which will find and display the network pass-phrase and key. Or if its a small network then you can reset the router to factory defaults and use the default password to re-setup the network.. Sometimes its easier to reset to factory defaults but you have to have all your ducks in a row. You need to know the WAN details and any printer specifics and open port details etc.

..and you will have to setup every machine on the network to use the new passphrase/key. ..ooorrrr get a network scanner to reveal the pass phrase/key

Trying to add new ipod touch to my network but i cant remember the password for wireless router. how can i recover my network key

Login into the router, 192.168.0.1, as long as you remember the password to login, you should be able to check the security settings then to see what your passphrase is set too. Only other option if you can't login into the router is to reset it to the factory settings and start over.

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router .
Is there any computer connected to the router with the Ethernet cable?
If not then connect 1 computer to the router and open the router set up page. Once you open the router set up page, you will be able to find the wireless network key.
Use that password to connect to the wireless network

2wire gateway router from windstraem, i need a security key or passphrase, do any of you know what this would be? thank you crush

A pass phrase is a sentence (statement, negation, interrogation) or part of a sentence (phrase) that has some meaning to you and is as such easily remembered by you. It is much easier to recall then a 26 character hexadecimal string. For the pass phrase, make up anything meaningful that you know will remember easily but not too easy to guess by people around you.

Cant find wep key

Your printer is saying that you should secure your wireless internet. Try resetting the router by holding the reset button located on the back for at least 30 seconds.

I cant get my passphrase # for router WGR614

Connect to your router via a LAN cable, logon to http://192.168.1.1 and use the user id and password for the router. If you don't remember the password, then you can reset the router settings by pressing the black button at the end of the router with a pin or so, so that you can use the default factory setting password written on your router.
In the "Advanced Wireless Settings" you can find the paraphrase and encryption key information, which you can modify yourself.
If you are still unable to find this information then let me know.
