Brother ls2125 bobbin not picking up thread

My top thread seems to be working fine, but it isn't picking up the thread from the bobbin.  I'm just not sure what is going on or even how it's supposed to move in order for the bottom thread to create that loop.

Not only will my machine not pick up the bobbin thread but it wraps around the bobbin when I am trying to see if it will work that time.

You have the wrong size bobbin in ,its to high over the bobbin case causing it to rap around the bobbin.

OK...I have an old singer (from 1964) so I am not sure whether you can do this...

I thread the upper thread as directed.

I stick the bobbin in the bobbin assembly as directed.

LEAVING THE SLIDE DOOR OPEN...I, by hand turn the wheel on the right hand of the machine counter clockwise (towards me). I want the needle go down. The thread from the upper part will enter the bobbin area and will form a loop that goes OVER the top of your bobbin to catch the thread from the bottom.

I keep turning until the machine has complete a cycle where the needle has started from the highest point, dropped to the lowest point (thus forming the loop that passes over the bobbin) and returns back to the highest point).

At this point you will notice that the thread is coming for from the bottom of the machine..I use a scissor to pull the the ends of the thread through. To the top. There should be two ends, one from the top thread, one from the bottom. If you dont believe me..jsut use a bobbin with a different color of thread...you will see what I mean..there will be two threads...one the first color and one the second color.

Good luck!!

It worked a few times for me, and then for the life of me I couldn't get the upper thread to pull up the bobbin thread even though I hadn't changed anything. I then changed the pressure setting from 6 to 4 and it has worked fine ever since.

Brother 1100 threading the bobbin

try changing the needle
rethread the machine top and bobbin
make sure to use every thread guide
make sure the top thread has not come off the thread take up
lever--this can cause the sewing machine to jam
if it's a top loading bobbin--take the bobbin out of the bobbin case
and turn it around and reinsert the bobbin
if it's a side or front loading bobbin take the bobbin and bobbin
case out and make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly into the
bobbin case and that the bobbin case is inserted correctly into the
sewing machine.

check to make sure the needle is inserted correctly
turn the bobbin opposite of what it is now
rethread the machine top & bobbin
if none of these suggestions help then the machine needs to be serviced

I am trying the tention,, and topt is fine,,under neat is loose

try adjusting the top tension

make sure the needle can be used for sewing fleece

try rethreading the machine ,make sure each thread guide is used

if you try changing the top tension & the machine doesn't respond to any tension setting then maybe the tension dial needs to be replaced

make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly in the bobbin case

make sure the bobbin is wound correctly

clean under the needle plate & in bobbin area for lint or loose threads

My White 5500 sews perfectly on the top, but the bottom thread is tangled and messy. I have tried to adjust the tension according to the manual but nothing seems to work. Help!

This is a really common problem especially on side bobbin machines, and the manual will tell you it's a tension problem but it's often a more general thread feeding problem. First make sure you have a good quality thread that isn't old or sticking as it comes off the spool. And more important it can't be too heavy, especially in certain fabrics and with a fine needle. A too heavy thread will cause all the problems you describe.
If your machine uses a bobbin holder and it has a tensioner in it make sure it's clean and well adjusted and has no gummy residue on it. And finally look at the bobbins themselves, I understand older machines work better with metal bobbins vs plastic.
These are very generic solutions but I had similar befuddling problems with a newer Brother side bobbin machine and was tearing my hair out over the thread bunching and Brother support kept insisting it was a tension problem or improper thread routing.
Turned out I was using too heavy a thread.
Since then I picked up an older (1990?) Singer Meritt 4530 from Goodwill for $20, but it's a more expensive top bobbin machine and NEVER bunches or malfunctions. I'm sold on the top bobbin design now, the mechanism inside is more complex but the thread feed from the bobbin is more direct and simple leading to less sewing issues. So you pay more for less headaches.

Bobbin on SE 350

Hi there, this seems to be a common problem with this machine. I have owned mine for a couple months now. The problem seems to be in the threading. The only solution I have found (and others on many forums) is to rethread the machine and the bobbin. I have also re-wound some problematic bobbins as they just maybe did not wind tight enough. Don't delete your patterns, that is not the problem. I have had proffesional patterns turn out a dozen times and then give me problems only to be fine once the machine decided it was threaded properly.

Don't go directly from the thread spool to the bobbin.
You have to go via the thread quide, (near the end of the head at left side) and under the small roller.

Pass your thread to the bobbin turn your thread 3 turns to the right, clockwise,
then pass the end of the thread, under the coming thread and give it another 3 turns to the right.
For better results, always remove old thread from bobbin before filling it up.
Push the thread winder lever to lock the bobbin.
Start winding slowly. If the thread is loading in the down position,
put your finger under the thread between the bobbin and the the thread quide, untill you see that the thread is feeding evenly.

Needle won't pick up bobbin thread - HELP!!!

I recently fixed my wife maching with the same problem. I found that the screw had come loose that holds the linkage together that rotates the bobbin holder. I was fortunate enough to notice the screw while looking at the machine. To replace it requires taking both the front and back covers off of the frame since the bobbin holder linkage is in the rear behind the needle area. Be careful to insure that the plastic toothed "rail" that runs the bobbin holder is positioned properly or it may break off a tooth. Once I replaced the screw and put the machine back together, it picked up the thread with no problem. Hope this helps.
