will need more information, how strong is the battery? have you remover the air cleaner, to check air flow, to run you have to have oxygen fuel and spark, all in the proper portions, Winter temps can often cause paper air cleaners to absorb moisture, then freezing temps, block airflow. what type of fuel system, efi, or carb throttle body are we talking about? Carb or throttle body you can introduce a few drops of fuel in the top (caution do not use much a teaspoon or so from a small open container as vapor is explosive!
the high humidity (water) is attacking your electrical starting system, whens the last time you changed your spark plug wires , distributor cap & rotor ? how about your fuel & air filters ? cleaned your battery terminals ? try it , it will help !!!!!!!!!
Hey Gordon,
Remove your battery, take it to O'Reilly's, AutoZone, etc.. have them check the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps)-load test.
.. this is what makes your car crank.>Amperage< ... 12+ volts might run the lights.. but just voltage WILL NOT crank your car.. the age of the battery doesn't matter either..
If the security light is on, it can only be one thing. This light indicates a failure in the antitheft system that will eventually lead to your car refusing to start or continue running. Here is a link with alot of info, plus ways to beat this problem.
1 coil pack is for cylinder 1 & 3 . The 1st & 3rd....moving back from the belts. 1 is on the top, three on the bottm of the coil. 2 & 4 should be the same, 2nd cylinder, 2nd back from the belts & top on the coil pack. 4 the last plug & lowest on the second coil pack. PLEASE NOTE: , A Handyman's Service manual, from an auto store can VERIFY THIS. My last experience was with the 1987- 1991 GM "Quad" 4 engines. One of the other experts on "FixYa" corrected a mistake I made on a newewr model. SO I WOULD CHECK this advise to A MANUAL. I was wrong on the other one I answewred, & do not want to add to your frustration. I have looked around my textbooks, I do not have one on that car, I have given it away.
