Question about GE D52GW12 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

I have a 52" GE-HDTV/Monitor. After the unit is turned off, it will not come back on-at all now. When I try to turn it on, the green light on the front of the TV comes on briefly, then goes off. I can attempt to turn it on three times this way, then it will not do anything for about a minute. I repeat this cycle and before, it would eventually come on after about five minutes of trying. Now when I try to get the TV on, the first time I hit the on button, the green light will come on briefly, go off, come back on briefly-for three times and then stay off. It is now doing the three time thing by itself and I still have to wait a minute before attempting again. There is a God.......after over 13 hours of playing with the remote and power button, the stinker came on. I don't dare turn it off until I find a solution. lol.... Any ideas?????Very frustrating....TY ;)

Try resoldering the flyback transformers connections on the board. Its very common for the flyback pins to develope cracks around the pins which can cause that issue. I would check that first with that model.
