Question about Masterbuilt 20070106 Electric Smoker

Masterbuilt Smoker Model 20070108 Digitial Controller not working. Worked the first time, then no power. I hear a beep when I plug it in, but no display.

The unit worked the first time, when I seasoned it according to the instructions. The next time I went to use it, I heard a beep when I plugged it in, but there was no display on the controller, it appears to be dead. I checked all of the connections and everything is hooked up correctly. I used my Masterbuilt electric smoker 4x and went to use it today and my controller was flashing heat but i couldn't use the time or temp is there anything i can do?

I discovered that the temp control unit is very cold sensitive. It usually requires a little preheating prior to use. But it work fine afterwards, I have not had any problems.

I had the same problem this morning. I seasoned it two days agao with an outside temp. of 50. This morning it was 8 degrees and when I pluged it in there was no readout. I removed the digital unit from the top and heated it with a hair drier and it worked when I reinstalled it. I think it had some moisture in it although the unit has been covered the whole time. I am going to call Masterbuilt tomarrow and see what their answer is to this problem.

Take the display back to where you got it from and swap it out with a display model or something. Having a display that controls temperature and a timer is basic electronics in the modern world. Who ever builds these things should be ashamed.

Need to reset passcode on skylink g5 garage door opener

G5K Reset

  • Remove the batteries for 2 minutes
  • Remove the T-shaped cover at the back of the keypad
  • Below the ABCD switch, there is a 3 prong jumper
  • Move the jumper from [Left & Centre setting] to [Centre and Right setting]
  • Put batteries back in
  • Enter [7 6 5 4 #] (2 slow beeps must be heard, if not, repeat the process)
  • Move the jumper back to [Left and Centre setting]
  • Wait 2 hours and the MPIN will be [0 0 0 0 #]

If the reset did not end according to my instructions, do it 2 or 3 times more. Remember, the battery has to be out of the unit for at least 2 minutes before doing the reset.

To change the PIN:

  • Enter the current PIN, (factory default PIN 0 0 0 0), press *
  • Enter new 4 to 6 digit PIN, press *
  • Enter new PIN again, press *
  • You should hear a long beep

Note: You only have 5 seconds to complete the task otherwise it won't work. If you failed to complete it, simply do it over again.

For example, if you are changing the PIN number from 0000 to 123456, enter the following sequence, 0000, *, 123456, * , 123456, * .

Keep in mind that you need to do this within 5 seconds only.

If confirmed, the backlit LED flashes and the unit emits a long beep.

My fireplace was purched in 2005. Since then I have replaced the Vanguard Thermal/rheostat blower twice, the last time was last fall. It is now going bad. Is there a problem with these blowers? My next one...

I have not heard of a problem with the blowers or a recall. But depending on what unit you have, and who you purchase the blower from, perhaps you could get a warranty so that you aren't spending out of pocket everytime. The original Vangaurd manufacturer, Desa International, went out of business in 2008, but there is a new company that took over some lines of the units and are still making the blowers for most of them. They hold a warranty on the blowers if you purchase is from a Distributor. I hope this helps a little!

Need to delete old voice message, can someone help

Erasing Messages

The unit will announce the remaining recording time after playback, if it is less than
5 minutes. New messages cannot be recorded when:
— “Memory full” is heard.
— “ ” is displayed on the base unit.
— ANSWER ON indicator flashes rapidly (only when the Answering System is on).

Erase some, or all, of the messages in a mailbox. We recommend you erase unnecessary messages after each playback.

Erasing a specific message
Press [ERASE] while the message you want to erase is being played.
• A short beep will sound and the unit will continue to play the next message.
Press [ ][4] while the message you want to erase is being played.
• A short beep will sound and the unit will continue to play the next message.

Erasing all messages in the mailbox
1. Press the soft key ( ).
2. Press the soft key ( , or ).
• If Mailbox 2 or 3 has a password, enter it (p. 51).
3. Press [ ][5] to erase all messages in the mailbox.
• A long beep will sound and “Mailbox (No.)” and “No messages” will be heard.
• To end remote operation, press [OFF].

I hope you rate this solution. Thank you and goodluck!

Doesn't operate when plugged in

The test and reset is a GFCI device. They do go bad sometimes. The solution is to cut that plug end off, and install a regular cord end that is capable of handling the rated amperage of the unit. ( I assume this is 120-volt unit)

You should replace the wall receptacle with a GFCI receptacle where the unit is plugged in to prevent electrocution

I hear 5 warning beeps then a pause then 5 beeps again

Get the battery situated, and your beeps should go away. Sounds like an errant security horn from a sloppy connection. Interested to see what happens. TT

Motorola MD4260

I had the same problem.
Here is the solution that I received from Motorola tech support:

1.Delete all messages
2. Unplug the power and re-apply power
3. Quickly press and release << (previous message) and >> (next message) buttons together while the "Press review to receive setup instructions" message is playing.
The display will change from a segment scanning clockwise to anti-clockwise
4. Quickly press and release the On/Off button before the "Press review to receive setup instructions" ends. The display will change to a square scanning clockwise.
Note, this goes by quickly. I had to repeat steps 1-4 a couple of times before I got it right.
5. Press and release the delete button. The unit will emit a beep.
6. Press and release the on/off button. The unit will emit another beep and annouce "Press review to receive setup instructions"
Done!

Gps module

I just went through this with Lowrance. tthe LGC 2000 module on my LCX 20 depth finder "quit responding" out of the clear blue. You have to go Lowrance.com and they have some tests you can follow to see if it is a bad cable or the module itself. I had to replace the module. They charged $99 bucks plus $12.50 shipping for a new one. I bought it spring of 2008, and the unit was 3 months out of warranty when it quit working. Last season I had lower back fusion and didn't use it except for 2 times late in the season. Getting ahold of Lowrance is going to be an experience. I called twice and waited on hold over 35 minutes before I was suddenly cut off both times. I tried email too, but it took 3-5 days to receive a response. Mine broke down June 18 of this year. I started trying to get hold of Lowrance the next day. By the time all the back and forth emails with the delayed responses were done, I received my new unit on July 24. 5 weeks! with out my gps in MN. It is a short season up here as it is. I sure didn't enjoy waiting that long.
