I'm trying to transfer my phonebook from my old V220 to Razr V3xx
I'm trying to transfer my phonebook contacts from my old V220 phone to a new Razr V3xx phone using Motorola phone tools software. I keep getting a "The mobile phone update has failed" message when I try to save my contacts over on the V3xx's SIM memory.

hi, you can transfer your contact details through your pc, by first u may use phone usb, then connect your phone usb to computer and go to my computer, chech for removable disk and find their your phone motorola RAZR V3, open it, go to phonebook and you may copy your phone contacts by simply clicking right click, choose copy and you may save it to your documents.
RE: Transferring phonebook to another mobile phone?
you can do that by first activating your bluetooth under connectivity. once activated/on go ack to phonebook, click send via bluetooth.
I can get pictures off of the original phone. but not messages. I know how to transfer photos to the new phone, but you have to text message them to yourself. obviously, unless you have unlimited pix and data, this will cost you alot on your next bill.
to transfer pictures off of the original phone: purchase Datapilot install it hook your phone to your computer with a USB cable (doesn't have to be a susteen, datapilot, or verizon cable, this can be any cable. transfer your photos.
If you mean you need to copy contacts from SIM card to your phone memory, you can copy multiple or all contacts from SIM to Phone. You have to be in the phonebook, press "Menu"and select Copy. On HandBookLive.com there are 20 chapters on how to use RAZR v3 and there are 2 chapters that deal with transferring contacts. RAZR is under Electronics category. And I know that if you have T-Mobile you can do it online right from the website, from your account, which is really nice and fast. So if you have to manually enter numbers, I would recommend doing it online, so much easier to type names on a real keyboard.
The razr that i had could only store 4 numbers on the sim card, your phone book is stored on your phone's memory not your sim. I'm pretty sure that you cannot transfer your phone book over to your sim card.
