-   It's not a REAL problem, yet; but my Epson RX595 won't recognize the yellow ink cartridge. Granted, it's out of ink, but it seems that it should still recognize the cartridge.
This came about because I had replaced the black ink cartridge, but the black ink wasn't printing. I removed the black ink cartridge and made sure that nothing was interrupting the nozzle flow. After replacing and having the same problem (the ink charges on every installation), I ran the head cleaner routine.
Ah, a few lines showed up on the nozzle check. I ran the head cleaner routine again, and I got a few more lines. One more time... and then the printer reported an error; it could not recognize the yellow ink cartridge. I assume the head cleanings ran the ink out of the cartridge and it was now empty, but it seems to me that it should recognize the existing cartridge. The printer freezes on the error screen. Rebooting it has no effect, it goes right to this same screen. So not only can I not print, but I can't scan either.
I'm going to pick up a yellow ink cartridge on my way home tonight and try installing that. We'll see how it goes. -
