Without having the exact model number for this tool I have in the past removed the outer collar on the quick release holder. After that you take out the small steel ball and the bit would come out but If you can provide the model I will look at it and see and call a friend that is a Bosch Authorized Service and see what they do in this case.

Had another thought, can you pull collar and if so do you have a strong magnet that you can try and pull it out with.

I have a Hitachi WH 18 DFL cordless impact driver, which I love. I was doing a little bit of heavy drilling, and now the drill bit is stuck. The sleeve extends as if to release the bit, but the bit do

My guess is that the bit twisted a little in the bit holder so the steel ball is bound. If the collar moves you could try a slide puller on the bit and see if you can impact it out with the slide puller. Or you could take the bit holder apart. There is a retaining ring that holds it all together right on top. Pull that off and a washer, spring and the collar will come off. Becarefull to watch for the steel balls on the spindle. They WILL fall out! Now hopefully the bit will come out. If not it may need to be twisted in the oposite direction that it got stuck when you were using it to break it free. Hope that helps and good luck!

If the bits get a bit distorted they will stick, if you have a bench vise clamp the bit in the jaws and give the trigger a quick pull.(reverse) That should dislodge the bit. This happens quite often on lesser quality bits that are made of soft metal.

Cannot remove bit from chuck brother-in-law put a small phillips head bit in the chuck

try to jam the chuck so its open. Put the forward and reverse so that it is slipping (like a grinding gear sound) and hold the drill upside down. If that doesn't work ,buy a screw extractor kit.

There are black access panels on each side if the drill toward the rear. Remove the screw that holds them in, and remove the panel. This will expose the bruch holder, take a small screw driver and carefully remove the old brushes and replace them. Replace the panels.

I have a Bosch PSR12 12V Cordless drill, but no instructions.

This drill has a keyless chuck. Put your bit in the chuck and hold the collar of the chuck while pressing the trigger in the forward position. To undo the chuck do this in reverse. You can also hand tighten the keyless chuck if you prefer. I have a 1/4' adapter that I keep in my drill so I can change bits quickly.

It's the nature of the beast. It should be snug enough not to fall out, though. Virtually all cordless screwdrivers have a bit of end play to them.

Bit stuck in Bosch PS20 keyless chuck

These units have only been out for a short while and most are on warranty. Take it to a Bosch Service center in your area and they will replace the front of the unit. Unfortunatly this is a problem with this type of unit. The bit will deform slightly from the impacting action and lock itself in the chuck.
